Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina Condensed Game | 2024-25 ACC Men's Basketball

The No. 20 North Carolina Tar Heels held off a tough Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets squad and came away with a 68-65 win at home. Seth Trimble was once again a big part of the win for Hubert Davis' club, scoring a team-high 19 points on 5-6 shooting from the floor and 8-9 shooting from the FT line with 7 rebounds and 4 steals in the win. R.J. Davis added 16 points and Ian Jackson chipped in 15 points for the Heels. Lance Terry scored 22 points and Baye Ndongo added 19 points with 12 rebounds to pace Damon Stoudamire's club in the loss.

I think it is time to hire a coach who can actually build a team and coach at a high level. I said that even though I really like Hubert.

As a UNC basketball fan I must say that it's torture to watch this team play. The only place that this team has to go is up because they are playing bottom of the barrell basketball right now. When I saw how well UNC played at Kansas I felt good about this I realize now that Kansas just played a really bad game that night against a team that was truely not worthy to even be on the floor with them. UNC plays with absolutely no confidence. Bad chemistry, bad defense, bad shooting, bad rebounding, and zero rim protection. This team would be a very good with a legitimate center. I blame coach Davis and his POOR recruiting for this....and his horrible recruiting continues with the 2025 team so far. J. Washington can't be depended on at the center position. He has no confidence, no fight, no heart. Opposing centers abuse him. Push him around like a rag doll. I really feel bad for RJ. Everyone expects him to put this team on his back and carry them. Damn that!! This team needs to wake the hell up and carry each other. As a fan I am supposed to feel good about the win over Georgia Tech. but I don't. This team keeps you on the edge of your seat each and every game with their inconsistent, weak play. God help them when they meet Duke this year. I know that Duke is licking their chops to get at this team. They are going to destroy UNC.

Ok win for us, should've won by 10 or more. Offense looks a bit hesitant and not that usual burst I'm used to seeing unless its fast break. Gotta keep our guard play and intensity up!! #GoHeels

you all are hilarious. You will be fine, UNC has a great squad. Your losses are to Auburn, Alabama, and Kansas, without a shadow of a doubt the #1, #2, and #3 teams in the country right now. and that michigan state team is looking better every game. RJ isnt quite playing his best basketball but everyone knows the standard he will get to. Cadeau (maybe not this game) looks much improved and more composed than last season, seth trimble is a whole new player, both of them are just amazing. Ian Jackson and Drake Powell are super talented and great sparks off the bench, personally I really like ian jackson, the hair needs work though. You all have had Bacot for a very long time its going to take time to adjust to not having that, it's a whole different way of playing that nobody on your roster has had to deal with before. Washington really just has to take control of that role, hes had some flashes but overall not good enough so far.
Another comment got it exactly right, tons of fair weather fans and arm chair coaches, aka casuals. They are a big problem in our game
Side note, I have no idea whats happened with Cade Tyson? He looked pretty good in preseason and early in the year but I don't think ive seen him play since.

The Heels all look afraid to shoot the ball ( I guess because they are afraid of missing or because of this "pass up a good shot for a great shot" mentality), but against good teams, a layup isn't going to happen on every possession. The guys need to take the good shot and stop hesitating to try and always looking for a better one and then get crap at the end of the shot clock. This hesitation is one of the reasons, I believe, that the 3 point percentage is low. We cannot win this year (against good teams) without hitting a good number (and percentage) of 3 point shots (it's just reality).

As a Carolina fan, I have major concerns about this season. I am sorry, but 18 turnovers is too many, win or lose. Georgia tech is not a particularly strong team, and the fact that they just barely squeaked past them on their home court does not speak well to how they are going to manage to accumulate the types of wins that help their NCAA tournament resume (which this one is probably not…sorry).
