And I have to say I have looked for the last hour for a "simple" build that gives a great, inexpensive finale. Like you have here. I will definitely use your plan. AND I found a Nice Broan vent with all switches located on the bottom of the unit (not front panel). It was 99.00 at Home Depot. Lowes had the same thing for 160.00. I love Cheap...er inexpensive also

Gorgeous! This video ended up inspiring me to entirely redo our hideous basement kitchen. Once I'm done on my $400 budget it will go from ugly 80's laminate to chic farmhouse modern. I'm starting the range hood cover project today so I'm excited to start and this video makes me feel WAY more confident to do something so extreme by myself. Thank you for providing such clear instructions and helping empower us DIY'ers!

Is your hood vented to outdoors or it recirculates? If recircs how did you accommodate the airflow? Any issues with building it in?

I so love this.. my question though is how loud is the vent? I have one now that I’m trying to replace, built into the microwave, and oh my it’s so loud, even on low. Don’t even try and hear anything or listen out for your children.. lol this is beautiful. This design is awesome how it’s connects to the cabinets. My ceiling is like 18 ft high so to heck with all those that go up to the ceiling 😂

Looks beautiful!!! Brilliant work
Did you have any issues with wood warping from stove heat or steam?

Great idea! Question? You are using the ductless feature on hood I see. Which way does the air flow go to escape after being filtered? Inside cover or does it blow filtered air down? Was worried about condensation build up of hot filtered air over time inside cover?

That looks amazing. Thank you so much.

Hi. Great work. Simple but very charming. I'm thinking of doing a similar adaption. I was wondering how the wood under the hood has held up? And has the suction power been adequate for your cooking needs? Ty!
