The minor screwup method you mentioned is exactly what we do in the professional voiceover studio. If I make a mistake I stop, go silent for a few seconds, then restart that sentence. It gives the editor a visual reference of where the mistake happens and also gives the editor a nice clean starting point.

I love how you included a clip of your 'mess ups', gives me a ton of confidence that my videos will get better!

Who else feels this way?

Very relatable, thanks! I'm now at a point of filming 1 video in about one hour, but it used to be much longer. Since I film videos in English and English is not my first language, I actually find a bullet point script to be less efficient than a written out script. When it's just bullet points, I take much longer to get to the point and I make more mistakes in English. So having a written script works better for me.

Love these tips. Just a note: you can speed up workflow on your clips by not starting and stopping the actual recording. You can just leave a big pause gap. They're easy to find in the editing process. This saves a lot of hassle hitting the record button over and over again and getting re-situated.

Thanks for sharing, from a time savings standpoint, I understood that doing ONE take, even though some parts will be taken out is more efficient.
My process is as follows:
1. Writing script
2. Shooting in one take (30min for a 8min final video..)
[Guys.. I have A LOT of bloopers!]
3. Trimming: go through the whole 30min to cut bad scenes out
4. Real editing with animations and transitions

I got the idea of writing a script from one of your videos and it changed by my life!! Before, it will usually take 2 hrs to make a 10 min video. After I tried making a script, I can finish in less than an hour! Game changer indeed!

OhMyGosh your tip about 'filming in chunks' has just made me feel like I might ACTUALLY be able to film my 1st video. I have been SO stressed out (okay, I AM so stressed out) about filming that I am literally paralyzed by this fear. I'm gonna try this today. Thanks a mil for all your awesome videos, I really appreciate the work you do ❤️️

In the first 40 seconds she said exactly what so many people lack. The ability to be consistent. Get you Stuff together people. She is on point.

Scripting can also take extra several hours.
If the topic is technical or demands a common thread of what you say, then scripting everything may still be favourable.
I realise that I need to upgrade some stuff. Cheers!

Vanessa, a few months back, I desperately wanted this info and I asked you. So I waited for a response and a video. When I didn’t really get one soon after, I thought, ok I will have to figure this out by myself and maybe get a teleprompter because I really can’t seem to be able to memorise my script. Today you have made a video answering exactly what I needed to know. You did answer me through this video. Thank you so so so much!!!! helpful. Thank you dear!! May God bless you. Another question if you’d ever like to answer. How do you keep yourself motivated to do videos when you’re feeling down. This is just a bonus question. You don’t have to answer this. Thank you again! This video is so helpful. Thanks again.❤️❤️❤️

I normally dont comment on posts but girl you saved me lol. Ive been looking for a video like this for over a week now. It seems no one goes into depth about how to record! Whether a large clip is good or mini clips are better. Thank you!! I love your content.

Figuring out my scripting has been key for my at home workout videos, and am moving from no script to a few bullet points. Thanks Vanessa!

Have been pondering using bullet points instead of a script. Gotta just try it. Taking me 1 hr 20 min to film at the moment and with 30 min to set up it's a big time investment. Thanks for the tips!! The remote tip is gold!!🔥🔥❤❤
