Greeks were known for mangling names for example Chandragupta is still known as Sandrocottus by the Greeks.

Agree. Just because the Greek couldn't pronounce his actual name and conveniently called him PORUS, can Raja Purushottam be forgotten from history?

As a Persian, I'm just amazed!
Thanks for this information 👍

If you listen to Avestan scared chants you'll find them quite similar to Sanskrit sacred chants. It was quite astonishing for me when I listened to them the very first time.

One more addition = Darius in Greek= Darya Vahush in Avestan/Sanskrit. Avestan & Sanskrit are sister languages and borrow a great deal from each other. Examples: Ahuras are gods in Avestan, Asuras are demons in Sanskrit, Deivas are demons in Avestan, Devas are gods in Sanskrit. Words like Mitra, Pitr, Vayu are common between both languages.

I have heard a Iranian pronounce Xerxes as Ksharaksha which sounds closer to Sanskrit.

This is exactly similar to what the Macedonian called their king Alexander and in Asia he was known as Sikandar and as per Sadguru Jaggi Vasudeva Ji the name Sikandar means very powerful warrior and it is derived from the Sanskrit name Skanda / Skandar which refers to Lord Shiva's second son Karthikeya who is a fearsome warrior and Skanda became skandar and subsequently Sikandar. Even Russians have named their fearsome missile as Iskandar 😊😊🙏🙏

*Greeks gave purush the name porus and the name given to Kurus/Quresh (arabic name of kurus tribe) was Cyrus*

I've heard that the Rig Vedic tribes of Parsu and Paktha are the ancestors of modern day Persians and Pakthoons, is there any truth in this?

Pure Sanskrit? Highly unlikely for a speaker of an Indo-Iranian language, therefore the similarity is more likely the result of speaking the closely related Indo-Iranian language, Avestan.

When I would study ancient history I used to wonder Who was ruling Persia during Mahabharata? Did Greeks or Persian have any affiliation with India during Rama's reign? etc. I seached many sources but never got a profound explanation as you gave. Thank you so much sir!! I don't know Why the hell this was concealed from us Indians? By the way, I have a question which I request you to answer. Question : Who was "Kalyavan" in Mahabharata? Was he a Persian king? What dynasty he belonged to?
