Irregular cycles inspite of using birth control pills or oral contraceptive pills. First is what is the cause of irregular periods. Why the oral contraceptive pills are used. The regular bleed may not be from the uterus, may be any genital sores, or ulcers or cervical polyps. So it is not related to anything to the mouth of the uterus per se. So a local examination is a must to make sure that you are not dealing with any ulcer, sores or any growth. If that is done, then get a scan done to see if there is no other cause of the bleeding. If there is no other cause for the bleeding, then see if the patient is taking the pills regularly. She may be missing the pill on and off and that is causing the irregular bleed. So proper counseling and educate the patient how to use the oral contraceptive pills and how hormonal balance has to be maintained and not a drug to be played with. So these are basically the things. Fall these things are correct then you can increase the dose of the oral contraceptive pills and appropriately manage it.
