I Ate at the Most EXPENSIVE Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas

I ate at the most expensive Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas. Mott 32 at the Venetian Palazzo is Chinese cuisine with regional Cantonese, Szechuan, and Beijing flavors in a modern Hong Kong ambience. And it's expensive. We ordered the hot and sour soup dumplings, BBQ Iberico pork buns, smoked black cod, crispy egg noodles with bamboo pith and mushrooms, mango coconut rice roll, and double boiled egg white with black sesame. These items on the Mott 32 menu were unlike any other food we've ever had at Asian restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip, even at the Bellagio.

Venetian Palazzo Las Vegas restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip include Bouchon, Yardbird, Sugarcane, Delmonico, Buddy V's Ristorante, Estiatorio Milos, Chica Las Vegas, Matteo's Ristorante Italiano, Majordomo Fish & Meat, Moon Palace, Mott 32, CUT, Lavo, Smith & Wollensky, The X Pot, Noodle Asia, TAO, Canyon Ranch.

There should not be loud music in a fine dining restaurant.

That music is horrible to experience while dining

Ate there a few months ago with in-laws. I couldn’t afford it, but they won $3000 in the slot machines. The bill was $700. You didn’t order the Peking roasted duck. Best thing I ate. Completely served the traditional chinese way with bones made into soup. Impeccable service. Kids constantly drop their chopsticks. I didn’t have to ask for a replacement.

Derek, I have to thank you for another great episode. Its fun when You take your fiancé out. She adds another dimension, and eats things that you won’t eat.

And I must give you a special thanks for what you did for me over the past three weeks. I had major surgery and it was bed ridden the entire time. I was able to watch everyone of your episodes, usually more than once, and it kept my mind off of the pain. I’m now better and looking forward to getting to Vegas and try some of the restaurants you recommended.

@10:07: "Hi. I'm sorry I cannot identify what we just served you, let me go ask what it is". LOL!

The noise in that place would give me a migraine! Very difficult just to watch the video. Never would I pay those prices for that dining experience. The food may be elevated but that crap noise is elevated as well. Glad you enjoyed the experience.

Tremella frondosa is an edible jelly fungus. In China, it is called huáng ěr (黄耳; literally "yellow ear"), and sometimes features in the vegetarian dish called Buddha's delight.

Food looks delicious! Why would they have the music so loud in such a nice place?!

Why is their overly loud pop music playing in the most expensive Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas! If I was paying those prices I would request some noise canceling headphones

I about cracked up when you nearly gagged yourself with chopsticks 🤣. Love your videos and your fiancé is a great addition. She seems very nice and knowledgeable about food.

Derek, being Asian we gave Mott 32 a try one of the last times that we were in Las Vegas. Since we were a fairly large party, we were seated at a private dining room at the rear of the restaurant. We have had Chinese food in many different cities both in the U.S. and Canada. Honestly, I had a difficult time justifying those high prices since the food wasn't that much better than many of the better Chinese restaurants that I've been to.
Try Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino. It's usually filled with many Chinese people dining. Once you have eaten there, you'll understand why.

I love the presentation of the food... smoking ironically at 4:20 & Black Sesame EYE at 11:18! I'll have to try this place now that EDC week is cancelled. I want to try some of those expensive fancy dishes! Another great video Derek!

This is a great review!! Thanks for letting me know my local Chinese restaurant is perfect- and that I can smoke cod at home for less than $20 on a Sunday right here in Las Vegas.

Some of these restaurants Derek has been reviewing recently are distracting with the loud background music.I find that to be a turn off to the dining experience. Is this a Las Vegas thing? Anybody else pick up on that?

You fricken make me laugh. My husband comes to the bedroom where I am on the computer wondering what the heck I am laughing at. I thought for sure you were going to choke on those chopsticks and your eyes go big. who in the hell wouldn't laugh. I find all these videos because of this studip pandemic...lol! You keep the smile on my face when I am tired of not going out. I always give you a thumbs up. Your videos are never boring...lol!
