Lawn fungus that causes diseases like spring dead spot, brown patch, large patch and dollar spot is one of the worst problems to have in your lawn. In this video we share fungicides, cultural practices and lawn disease control options to stop an existing outbreak and prevent future issues.

We also discuss changes to watering and fertilization that will help reduce the likelihood of problems with brown patch and large patch in your lawn.

The lawn fungicides Headway and Caravan G are both discussed in this video. The pros and cons to each fungicide are covered in detail. That way you can decide which fungicide is best for your particular situation. The ideal time to apply preventative fungicide are the months of May and June. They will help control lawn disease and are easy to apply using your broadcast spreader.

The products shown contain azoxystrobin and propiconazole which are both very effective against common lawn diseases.

👆 Common spreader settings are available at the links above.

The products shown in this video were supplied by Syngenta.

Excellent Ron! I'm battling the "large Patch fungus and have noticed some white grubs in my well kept centipede lawn. My lawn temps have not quite reached 70 degrees, so going with Caravan G this spring and Headway this fall. Thanks!!

Question, what’s the best process to target fungus, grubs and weeds? Like, where do I even start and what do I target first?

What's up Ron! I have tall fescue will this product treat rust and brown patch if you have it in your lawn already. Or would I need to spray propiconazole or azoxystrobin to help clear it out. Thanks Ron. I have been watching you for sometime now. I just subscribed!

Hi Ron, great information. Now that it is Oct. 3, is it to late to apply the treatment now.

Hi Ron, I am looking to purchase a fungicide and deciding between Pillar SC and Headway G because they contain both class 3 and 11. Does applying both at the same time mean the fungus does not grow resistant to it? So you don't have to rotate fungicides?

Hi which one or do I need both for grubs and how should I apply it after purchasing

Just tossed down my preventative fungicide for the month. Easier and cheaper to prevent then treat :) Great video Ron

If using a product such as Headway G, do you still need to rotate it with another product from a different FRAC group? Or the fact it’s a dual FRAC product is essentially rotating the groups for you?

Hi Ron, I have what appears to be spider webs on the lawn. I think i read that could be a sign of a fungus starting. Is that correct?

Ron, I just watched your video for the first time. Very informative! I never heard of Caravan G but willing to try it out. Is it a "Season Long" type fungicide/disease control or is it a product that needs to be reapplied once a month like Bio-Advanced products?

For winterizing, can Caravan G be applied in November and December? Also, can you put a winterizing fertilizer on top of this?
Your videos are very helpful!

Hey, Ron i'm a pesticide applicator in Texas. I have some new st. augustine sod that I have put down. Im going to put down headway on rest of my turf. In the past I usually never apply anything to new sod until the roots break out into the soil. Do you think this fungicide would harm the new sod if I apply it to the new grass

Hey Ron. I have Empire Zoysia and I have grey leaf spot. I put down a fungicide with astrobyin(spelling) about 6 weeks ago. It doesn't seem to be getting worse, but not better. My lawn looks like it is trying to come out of dormancy. Please help.
