to find the octal number comes after any octal number we can subtract 1 from a given octal number and to find next octal number we can add 1 to a given number therefore ->4(440)-1=437 and 767+1=770.

Thank you so much for this video, within the first two minutes I was able to understand the number system compared to another thirty minute video that didn't help me at all

Trick : if the LS digit is 7, add 3 with the whole number for the next number and for the previous number subtract 3 from the whole number.
if the LS is 0, the previous octal number will be subtraction by 3 from the whole number and the next number will be addition of 1 as usual.
