We rescued a wonderful standard Beagle from a puppy mill. He was 10 when we got him 2 years ago. He's come so far from being caged 24/7. He gets lots of long walks, rides in the car, naps on the bed or leather couch, healthy diet and copious amounts of love and "you're a good boy!" He's a fantastic dog that will never be alone or caged again.

I adore my beagle. He is the most loving affectionate dog ever. If I could, I would get half a dozen or more. And especially their howling, music to my ears.

beagles are social creatures and as a result when i moved to my house 10 years ago i was often awaken in the mornings to my neighbor down the roads pocket beagle bouncing off my door. Little Bit was her name i had never met such a loving intelligent dog she knew when i needed a smile and she never failed to deliver. sadly she was old by the time we met and i only got to spend 5 years as a part of her extraordinary life. the owner told me how it just wasn't my house she frequented but she did "her rounds" to every house in our neighborhood, that dog was loved and cared for by so many people probably fed to because my road is a mile long and she was still fat as a butter ball even though she roamed it daily.... i lost her company a few years ago and ive never stopped missing her companionship. in fact i missed her enough i got a beagle pup a few months back from my brother hes a hunter so i took the runt since shes destine to be a couch potato her Name is Kitty i often catch myself calling her lil bit their personalities are so similar yet different at the same time ... never before had i considered a beagle as a pet but my experience with a neighbors dog changed that... my paragraph alone should be a testament to owning a beagle(s )

I gave up my beagle to a friend when I was hospitalized. I still miss him a year later. There is just nothing like a beagle- naughty, funny, affectionate and so cute.

We owned a standard sized Beagle adopted from the pound. He'd been born about the same time Hurricane Katrina had devastated the deep South and had lost his home and his family. I still miss my little Arfer, and think about him frequently. I currently have another dog from the pound, Sweetie Pie, who is part Beagle and part Dachshund. She misses little Arfy, too. We take comfort in knowing that we have each other, even though we miss our Loved ones.

Our elderly neighbors thought it was a good idea to get a beagle pup from actively hunted lines to keep as a house dog. She did very naughty things. They gave her to my daughter when she was just 11 months old. So she came to live w us. I never ever had an ounce of trouble out of the little dog and she was as smart as a whip and was super athletic. We still visited her previous owners and grandma and grandpa were thrilled she seemed so happy. Then again I saw she had lots of exercise and let her use her nose....did some recall training and spent time playing with her. when my daughter moved out she stayed with me because I needed to be sure she was being well cared for and kids need to focus on dealing with adult life for the first time on their own. She was my best friend and a wonderful companion dog. Eventually, I would like to have a am def getting one from a shelter. Probably an older one. It will have to be hunting type.

I had 3 beagles - (not at one time) Equinox purebred from a beagle farm - very smart ! PRINCE was a male very playful loved to play hide & seek. SHADOW came to me from a friend at a mature age had a chip in her head if lost - again very smart told me what time to feed her, treat time, sleep time, very playful but only her games. DELIGHTFUL ANIMALS & PROTECTIVE!

We have a purebred toy beagle. Snoopy is now 9 years old and still loves to play like a puppy. We love him to pieces.

I have a Beaglier and see is the best of both worlds. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Beagle, Beaglier, is the sweetest, adorable, and affectionate of any dog I've ever owned. I was hope this popular mix would have been included. I loved the video!

My first dog was a standard tri-colored beagle. Skipper was his name. My dad rescued him from the pound as a puppy when I was 6.
He lived till I was 17.

I have a beagle mix. Mother is a purebred pocket beagle and father is a border collie. She looks much more like the border collie but she is small, about a foot tall at the shoulders. I see the beagle in her mostly in her floppy ears, her tail carried like a flag, and her nose to the ground most of the time. I call her Bonny the Border Beagle and she is beautiful, super energetic, and very lovable!
