Thanks, Angela. I just started to paint. On my 5th painting. the first two were craft paints and the second 2 were medium body acrylics. I like mediums. I look forward to trying the heavy bodies also. I have mixed the first two bodies I have on my last painting and it did really well.

Thank You Angela and Mark for this tutorial. I am new to painting (about 2 months) and I have struggled with this some. I was nervous about using too much water, during the blending process and now I see that, was a lot of my problem. I can go much thinner at the beginning because I can and more layers to get proper coverage. Thanks a bunch, I Appreciate It! Keith

thanks Angela for these helpful techniques. A problem I'm having is with fine lines. I can't seem to get them to flow well. I mostly use the Liquitex basics & my fine lines seem to dry up very quickly as I create them. I can't seem to add the right consistancy of water. I'm wondering if I should something to help it flow rather than just water.

Thank you Angela, This has been one of my problems. Blending shadow on flower petals. It is so frustrating. I am going to try to first put my solid color and my lighter color right on top of it and blend down. I find this so hard even with different mediums. keep trying is all i can do!!! I wont give up!!! Thank you again Nancy

Thanks for the tutorial, definitely made the blending techniques clearer, I use both student grade and heavy body and have struggled with the differences between them but now feel much more confident 😁

Hey mark and Angela. Happy Halloween! Thanks for taking the time on Halloween to do a tutorial. It was very informative. I think the good craft paints cover as well as the more expensive ones. I did Tole painting for years with the craft paints you have and I know pieces that are still hanging outside peoples houses in good condition. Lol I learned to paint with Ceramcoat paints. They have always been the best in craft paints. But thanks again . Hope you had Halloween fun. Hugs to you and mark.

I have to tell you, I've been using the craft paint and thought I'd try the Liquitex Basics.  I'm not fond of the thicker paints.  Yes, I have to add another coat sometimes, but hen you're doing lots of layers it mostly doesn't matter.  I have found that I have to use MORE of the Liquitex paint, at least it seems that way.  If I were to switch to a higher quality paint, I would use Golden Fluid.  Now, for sure, color is an issue with the craft paint, as the brand I use doesn't even make Pthalo colors or even Burnt Sienna  (I do have Burnt Umber) so I have to make do and have found ways to mix my own.  So unless people start offering me a lot money for my paintings, I'll keep using the craft acrylics.  If you have any interest, you can see the results I get with craft paint here at my photo album.  (Been using apple barrel).
