This video provides a tutorial on Termination of DNA replication in eukaryotes and prokaryotes. Collision of two replication forks result in termination of DNA replication in eukaryotes. However, DNA polymerase enzyme unable to replicate ends of chromosomes which are known as telomeres, causing end replication problem. Telomerase, a ribonucleoprotein which provide RNA template and reverse transcriptase enzyme help elongate telomeres to resolve end replication problem. In prokaryotes, TUS protein binds with Ter region and inhibits helicase enzyme activity to terminate DNA replication.

The following topics are covered in this lesson,

1. Termination of DNA replication in eukaryotes
2. Telomeres
3. End replication problem explained
4. Telomerase (ribonucleoprotein)
5. Telomere shortening
6. Hayflick limit
7. Mechanism of action of telomerase
8. Termination of DNA replication in prokaryotes
9. TUS protein
10. Termination region
