Vagus Nerve Massage for Stress & Anxiety Relief

Vagus Nerve Massage for Stress & Anxiety Relief

1. PEACEFUL CALM

2. DOORWAY TO THE SOUL

3. POOL OF WIND

Peaceful Calm - Stress and Anxiety causes hearing loss, reduced hearing and changes the range in which you can hear. Normal conversations are harder to hear and high pitches are easier to hear.

Doorway to the Soul - Your eyes are connected to your entire nervous system. Because we spend so much time on our electronic devices it strains our eyes and drains the corresponding organ system (liver and gallbladder organ but also aggravates the ventral vagus nerve system and causes anxiety).

Pool of Wind - This is called your “Pool of Wind” because it tends to collect negative energy known as evil wind, when you rub here you feel a sense of calm and relaxation.

Honestly, this feels like something that can distract somebody's senses down enough that showing somebody it and having them do it to themselves could stop or prevent a panic attack. Will keep in my mind for friends.

Thank you! Is there a time limit to how long to do this? I need to calm my nervous system as literally everything revs it up, my body is so afraid.

I am not opposed to the exercises you demonstrated- there is actually a decent amount of evidence that they work. I am not denying that or opposing it... What I have trouble with in this video comes from confusing different cranial nerves with each other- as well as the concept that there is a "Vagus Nervous System." (1:09). To get to the point- yes VN is part of the autonomic NS- Stimulation of either of the two (one on each side of the neck, below ear and chin) activates the parasympathetic nervous systom (part of autonomic). Touching other areas (such as by the eyes or back of the skull)- may create a response that the vagus nerve ends up being a part of... The cranial nerves influence one another- but there is a big difference between vagus nerve stimulation directly- and other things that get that parasympathetic nervous system going- and eventually the VN tells the heart- lets dial it back a bit- were good.

When I saw you rubbing the occipital area that causes my chronic migraines, I knew you were the ANSWER.

Lovely! The video ended quite abruptly however. Was it supposed to? Either way I feel so relaxed.

Not so calm and relaxed considering how fast it was demonstrated, but thank you for this tip.

Nice video, and helpful too! But please next time doing vagus nerve exercise try to slow it down a bit more. This feels too rushed, and I have to pause the video to even finish the moves, before moving on to the next one. ❤ something like this should be more slow paced, and relaxing. Thank you for the exercises.

Why would I want to “connect” when feeling anxious?
I’d want to DISconnect!
