It is called rules. If people do not think about why they exist they should think again. His example is for protection of people on foot(children and elderly people). But hey...be more ignorant and simple minded.

Maybe Germany is a strong economy, it is clean, has a high standard of living because they respect the rules. Maybe some of the rules sound stupid to you but respecting all the rules, even the small ones, create habits, a certain type of mentality that made Germany one of the wealthiest and most civilised country in the world, the reason you came here. You don’t understand that if you don’t respect their rules, you will disrupt the fabric of their society, you will transform it into an uncivilised, undesirable country.

We just respect the rules and it stops a lot of problems, unless you’re this guy. Don’t be this guy. I was also able to safely play in the city streets as a youth in mannheim in the sixties. Crime was unheard of. I had culture shock upon my return from japan when I was in the marines because it reminded me of my childhood in Germany, no crime and vending machines on the street. I landed in LA and was shocked at the waste of space and how terribly bumpy the street was and the attitude of the people in general. I wanted to go right back! I put in for return duty but my time was up by the time I had a chance, would have had to re-enlist and that wasn’t in my plans. I had a job waiting for me that psid me on a Sunday what the corps paid me for two weeks! I never saw that much money. Tsking home over a grand a week in the early eighties and only 21 years old! Motorcycles took over! The rest is history, literally!😅😅
