I would have loved that as a kid. We used to make up parts sets like that with Atmel chips for my son when he was little. 20 years later he is running super computers for a living.

As an oldie, still designing, electronics engineer I am still fascinated by these kits. I wonder though how many kids these days are really interested, or whether most would rather be social media stars, traders etc (very little effort for potentially so much money).

I've got a Raspberry Pi Pico with a form of MS BASIC installed on it. I've not fully explored it yet.

Pro tip- the screwdriver is actually detatchable. Hold onto that black part and pull out, you will get another end. Usually they will have a + and a — shape ones.
I have that exact screwdriver, its nice for little parts, not suitable for anything heavy duty considering its build quality. Fine for chassis operations.

except for the many other boards ( fan, rfid, rover parts, etc) looks a lot like a sunfounder kit I bought 2 years ago. Looks like a great kit. I'm still having fun with my sunfounder. BTW I'm not a kid and dig it.

Just received my kit. And the Pico is missing! The IR receiver module is missing. And the Vibration Sensor is bent. Recommend anyone buying this to make sure to do a detailed check of the items in the kit as soon as they receive it. You won't want to get caught out

The thing about those kits is that they are gateways for kids to get into electronics. They're good fun too.

I think the explanation was a little off. I believe you install a striped down OS on these just like the full size Raspberry Pi boards. Usually a very minimal Linux distribution. The Python scripts are the. Run in that environment. I do not know of any single board computers that run Python natively.
