I find a fancy probe on eBay

Coincidentally, I just paid $50 for probes yesterday, too. I got some extra money so decided to get better probes after seeing so many DMM reviews complaining about the included probes, I felt left out. I don't own any Flukes, but do have good Amprobe, Uni-T and Klein DMMS. But that was $50 Canadian, and they were the Deluxe Fluke probes. I don't know if I will get better results, but I must say that silicon leads are a sensual experience!

I’m not a big fan of plastic BNCs. They tend to break as the plastic ages and becomes brittle.

I do like the narrow HP / Agilent probes. They fit in places wider probes do not.

That's a great probe, and I love the case. What a bargain.

You can move the colored bands around like resistor values too - especially when you have more than 10 probes connected to a prototype.

A great deal for a 500mhz probe and looked almost new. I really like how it attaches itself to the scopes input .

$50 ? Bargain for one of those ! I have a set that I slowly accumulated for my Agilent DSO7014A. One of the cables has gone faulty and I'm looking for spares. There are actually several in the series .. not sure of the differences. The browser is really nice, but I do often find I browse to a testpoint then want to lock-on, at which point I want the other hook.

I would buy that in a heartbeat as that's a good price and loads of well thought out ideas for accessories, it's definitely designed by an Engineer for an Engineer...cheers.

I recently fell in love with the HP 1043x series of miniature probes... there were a handful on eBay, in 'new' old condition. My only complaint is the plasticizers have started to go out of the cables, which makes them not quite as nice as when they were new I imagine. The used ones are less worth buying, any damage is usually fatal and missing parts is frustrating...

£/$50 is cheap for a 300Mhz probe I buy Testec probes they are cheaper than name brands plus the extras are interchangeable.

This gives me a idea to buy a regular probe and do a bit of surgery to make it an active probe.
Really, passive probes are not that useful above few MHz.
In general I prefer to use near field Magnetic and Electric field probes at high frequencies. They act as antenna and create much less interference with signal.

Did you try this probe with your Rigol? Can you compensate the probe?
I'm asking, because on the case is print "COMPENSATES 6-9pF.
