Make sure you check out the howard's line up! Its the best food safe finish around.

Great video and awesome project. Saw the bowl on the LIVE and you guys both seem very proud of it/them… as you should be. My first major tool purchase for my shop was a lathe, even before a table saw. The internet made me do it 😁 I think I am going to have to try this out… a very solid, minimalistic take on a bowl… very modern looking. I can see you trying some laminated wood in the future. It would be interesting to see what you could sell those for. A big thanks to Peter and John for sharing.

Wouldn't it be easier if you put runners on the circle jig so you wouldn't have to recenter the jig again on the table saw? I'm just thinking about making it easier and safer but truly appreciate your videos. I would love to try this

You can turn a nice coved edge on the bottom too!
Get a waste board and drill a hole in the center, recessed to accept a bolt, and loosely bolt it to a sled that runs in the saw table.
Glue the sacrificial piece with some paper between it and the bowl, so it separates later.
Slide the whole thing so it brings the edge above the blade and clamp in place.
Now run the saw and raise the blade as you spin the bowl around, little by little.
You can change the radius by keeping the sled a bit short of the blade, and moving the pivot away from center.

I hope everyone who is commenting negatively about using the table saw to make a bowl also makes the same comments to Tamar when she uses her table saw to round over legs for a desk, a bed, etc. All I hear in her comments is people falling all over themselves about how wonderful and smart she is!!! His hands/fingers are well protected by 3" of wood. The only comment i would make is to watch out for kickback if the blade catches and rips the wood. But, isn't that something all of us have to watch out for even when we use the saw the way it was intended? Does anyone think a lathe is safer? Try spinning a chunck of wood and having the chuck let go bc the wood breaks. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but everything has to put into perspective as well.

Am I the only one who kinda likes the bowl with the square base?

It's obviously not gonna be a bowl kept in a cabinet at that point, but I do like that look.

Great video! Loved your process and how you explained it. I learned a ton. Can I ask, did you consider using your bandsaw to cut the corners off instead of the jigsaw?
