Good to see the inventive spirit alive. You’ll want to add a valve at the top of the vac pump as once turned off that bubbling sound is the vacuum pulling the oil out of the unit. Will probably only contaminate your hose, but you’re losing vacuum and I suppose it could introduce an oil mist into a chamber with a hot pour. Shut the valve with the pump running, then shut off the pump. Take care and have fun!

Nice! May I ask, how do you lower your flask? It seemed a little rough...

Does the 4 cfm pump do a good enough job on your castings? I read it needs to be 7 cfm to 9cfm

Is it possible that plaster mold breaks and pump sucks metal in?

How did this end up working out, I'm looking to do a similar setup? Does the gasket hold up to the heat? How hot do you heat your flask before dropping it in there?
