For some D&D type insight into why Omeluum is able to be especially chill for anyone interested:

Psychic powers in D&D basically create a magic weave from within the individual themselves, rather than channeling it from a deity (Divine magic) or from the Astral Plane (Arcane magic). That's why Mindflayers all exist as an extension of an Elder Brain when they're linked to its mind psychically as they become a part of its weave (and why a Nether Brain with Karsite magic is such a terrifying concept).

Omeluum's affinity for Arcane magic is connecting him to the Astral Plane, which functions as a pillar for helping him to remain anchored to his own individual will even when there is an Elder Brain around (beyond just shielding his mind from its presence with his ring). This is why Mind Flayers typically kill any Illithid that begins practicing Arcane magic, and why becoming an Alhoon (Illithilich) is particularly difficult. Omeluum is one of the few times when an Illithid gets to be curious for their own interests AND when those interests aren't just inherently sinister all on their own.

Definitely marry material.

It’s worth noting that Omeluum actually uses it/its pronouns, but honestly it’s aplatonic nature and apathy for stuff like social courtesy would probably result in it just not giving a shit if you used other pronouns.

What if.. Omeluum is just as manipulative as the other Mindflayers, but has just been assigned a longer time plan getting the trust of everybody in the world first.
