Age reveal at 1m subs. We are 36.3% to 1m subs, guitar chefs. Progress! (Crazy to think that 1k people = 0.1% of the goal).

For the people confused, without voice leading, the resolution of that solo part is abrupt and does not have any impact because the listener cannot expect it in any way.

However, with the second solo part with voice leading, he plays a G before the G# (one semitone away) to sort of ‘build up’ to the resolution of the solo, which is a G#. This makes the listener anticipate the resolution, thus making it sound more natural and impactful.

You consistently provide great advice and then back it up with actual examples. Thank you for that!

The algorithm took me to your stuff; your recent content has had clear, practical, visual info about important stuff that it's hard to find presented clearly/without a bs grift angle online. Like this, and like the recent short about plectrum grips. Think I just might check back in June.

It's so subtle, I can't hear how it makes a significant difference. Maybe one day.

Personally I think targeting the root and the 5th are my favorites. For me the 3rd just sounds too dissonant. The 5 is just amazing

Okay so that’s why synyster gates does that

Legit the way you present the info then insult me really helps, idk what that says about me but I am here for it

I thing both sound amazing, but it's nice to know how to do both to get the most expression out of your instrument. It also can depend on the context of the song.

This is something I'm trying to get used to. Easy way to transition or just spice up a boring lead.

What would your recommendation be for somebody who learns how to play Upside Down and left-handed such as myself literally anything other than playing it correctly

This has always come natural, tho I learned scales in tandem with famous solos…whilst also being put on the spot to improvise live at the time.
Guess my ear never got accustomed to scales played in sequence. I just had to figure shit out by necessity.

Timing on the other hand…definitely have had to put in the work. 🕰️🖕
