In Italy we banned Goku, Doraemon and other manga and anime inspired names, as well as historical figures like Mussolini, among others. There's a list on some Italian newspaper's article, which covers a wide range of banned names in the country. A woman who wanted to name her son "Goku" had to give birth in San Marino. This happened a few years ago. Foreign names (no matter the origin, but especially American and maybe Arabic/African Names) are sometimes seen as "ugly" or bad, but aren't banned. People in Italy seem to dislike "Kevin" and "Jessica" for some reason. Or "Jennifer". And in the North, Ciro is associated with Southern Italy and/or Naples so it's a memed name. Honestly, if I had a son in 2020, i would've avoided the name Ciro, since memes about Ciro were so popular on Reddit, including stereotypes and "South=Mafia" things. Idk how "X Neapolitan person steals wallets ahah" became a meme, but whatever...
