Pink Floyd are an English rock band formed in London in 1965. Gaining an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished for their extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows. They became a leading band of the progressive rock genre, cited by some as the greatest progressive rock band of all time.

Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii is a 1972 concert documentary film directed by Adrian Maben and featuring the English rock group Pink Floyd performing at the ancient Roman amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy. Although the band perform a typical live set from the era, there is no audience beyond the basic film crew.

It's like Pompeii's ghosts are gathering around to listen.
"It's taken nearly 2000 years but it's nice to have a performance here again".

I discovered Pink Floyd when I was sixteen, that was 95th. I was stunned by this music. But I grew up in a post-Soviet country, and at that moment I was certainly young, but I began to collect their albums and any information about these guys. All my surroundings knew about my hobby, and one of those days my girlfriend's friend gave me a small book about them, there was some history about the band as well as interviews with the musicians, oh was delighted, re-read it several times. I also heard about this concert in Pompeii, but unfortunately it was not possible to see it. But now one click and you are hear, this is amazing, isn't it?
Yeah this guys are timeless.

Visited Pompeii last week. Didn't realise the colosseum there featured an exhibition from this very concert complete with music/photos & video. Absolutely surreal.

10/10 would visit again.

Pre this we all knew Gilmour, Waters and Wright were exceptional but this video showed me how good Nick Mason was. As a group I don't think there has ever been or will be a group of so much creativity and talent.

This should be shown in a theater. Most people don't know it exists. Unforgivable breaking Echoes with a commercial. Gone find another one
