Hi-Lo gearboxes are pretty common in the 4x4 world, but they never really took off in the motorcycle world. We split open a vintage Suzuki with a dual ratio gearbox to understand why.

nobody will ever find this comment buried 7 pages down the list but maybe someone at FortNine reads all these things and will find this little tidbit interesting: that spider encrusted in dirt ... well that is exactly what it is. There is a family (genus?) of wasps out there that hunt and paralyze spiders which they then encase in little crypts made of mud and lay their eggs inside of them. The spiders stay fresh so that when the eggs finally hatch the young wasps have something to feed upon.

I watch this channel for both Ryan and 45 now. 45, whatever your real name is, thanks for bringing a fine new perspective to FortNine.

in today’s bike review media landscape where all we see are the new flashy bikes with all the gizmos, features, and price tag of a car, I appreciate F9 shining the light on all the old, quirky, but also fun bikes that deserve a second look

The missing the bin made me happier than it should!

I think 46 is more self aware then previous clones

They. Never. Fail. The constancy of greatness is just amazing. They nail it Every. Single. Time.
The script is perfect, the scenery as well, the acting is out of this world, and the conclusion makes you shed a tear of joy.
F9, you are a hell of a treasure.

The Hi/Lo gearbox on the Honda CT90s from my youth is what made it great. If their new CT125 had the same set up I would have bought one in a heartbeat.

Love for motorcycles grew while watching this channel for years, finally got one 6months ago, a scooter though, brought all gears.
Crashed recently, I rear ended someone, broke a collarbone, still watching fortnine while mom is raising hell about riding bikes and with a healing fracture... look forward to riding again😂! Safe riding everyone.

In b4:
- I don't even ride motorcycles but it's my favorite channel
- Man the cinematography is through the roof video after another
- I really start liking the new guy
- I've never clicked the like button so fast before

Honestly, its incredibly unfair how much charisma the folks on this channel contain. Leave some for the rest of us, dudes.

A friend of mine has 4 1975 Suzuki RV125's all restored. Fun bikes we race each other around his yard on them all the time so much fun.

F9 making the motorcycle stuff we need. Living in Japan, I see people cherishing all types of bikes from various decades. It’s refreshing! F9 encourages us to do that, not just looking at what’s newest and shiniest

Learned to ride motorcycles on that very bike in 1974. Can’t remember having the high-low on it though… had tons of fun on my uncles farm with my cousins on that bike! It planted the seed in me and have had bikes ever since! 😎

Get you high, when you're feeling low ❤

Don't forget that the original Honda CT series, starting in 67, all had two range gearboxes. When they brought out the new 125 recently, us traditionalists were giving Big H raspberries because the new bike didn't have it (and needed it).

I don’t even own a bike anymore but the quality content, information and pure entertainment of this channel keeps me watching and waiting for the next video drop. You guys rock!

My first bike at 14 was a '79 Suzuki TS/ER185, only used for "green laning" ... I loved that bike for years, and when I eventually replaced it with a CR-250 I decided to sell it for peanuts to some random teens (thinking they'd have the same experience I did)
....I found the burnt-wreckage of it a couple of weeks later in the local woods. Bastards!

Thanks so much for doing the teardown; I've been itching to figure out how it worked since your other vids the HI/LO in it.
