A small recommendation. Pick a few songs and try to type along to the song, pick songs that go along with your typing speed.
Might make typing enjoyable in the beginning, I wish I had this idea when I first started.

For me I've always done finger gymnastics it's how I taught myself how to type faster. I type 90 wpm on average. My computer teacher always taught me to type a certain way, and it was pretty hard for me. It's different for everyone, but I'm around 90 wpm and 97% typos. So learn how you want to but I try not to look at the keyboard or what I'm even typing on and see how fast I can go (after getting a lot of muscle memory cause I've been playing on a computer since I was 5 so I learned muscle memory a long time ago.) Looking at what I'm typing and seeing the typos causes me to stop and fix them, it also causes me to check if I did make a mistake which takes longer, that's why I prefer not looking at what I'm typing because it just helps me go faster than usual so I can get about 100 wpm if I don't look on average (Only don't look if what you're typing is what you have thought about typing if you are doing a word test looking at what you're meant to type not what you're typing and ignore if it tell you, you made a mistake as it can offset you.) But that's what helps me at least so once more learn how you want and do whatever that's just how I do stuff.
