I completely agree with you. I convinced a guy at work recently to just get a decent SUV and a utility trailer because he only needed to haul small things once in a while. I used to tow my 30foot camper with a 01 Durango with the 5.9 gas. Everyone thought i was crazy. it did the job. But i have to admit that i own an 05 RAM 2500 8 foot bed(I now tow a 10k pound camper and heat my house with wood which i gather myself) So a pickup is necessary. But with the proper Utility trailer you can do just as much if not more(within your weight limits) Great Video!

I know this is way after the fact of the video but this really spoke to me. I own an 04 Honda Accord coupe that I daily drive and I have an 05 Chevy Trailblazer that I get work done with. I have done a remarkable amount of things with my Trailblazer and people have repeatedly told me "Why don't you get a truck?". In response to that I point out to them that I a) can't afford a truck and b) have never had a job I can't get done with my Trailblazer. I have all my tools and etc. tucked in under my seats and leave seats folded down at all times for hauling. I haul band equipment (lots of it), my detailing business, move people, and more. I have a hitchgate and a bunch of straps on me at all times to be able to move things otherwise as well as roof rack which has hauled many pieces of furniture. I recently hauled 820 pounds worth of wood, dirt, and rocks to the dump by putting a tarp down in my SUV and using my hitchgate. A trailer is in the future for band equipment as well. Sorry for really long comment but this just really spoke to me. God Bless!

I have a pickup.
I totally agree with you. Fortunately it is not my DD (it's old, easy to work on), so I can use it as needed otherwise I would have to get rid of it.

Plus for those odd times you need something bigger - just rent it.

I'm with you Doug. Not everyone needs a truck. It seems today the truck has replaced the family sedan.Back in the day you had a truck for work and the car to take you and the family to church on Sunday.Today, you see more and more people driving trucks who don't use them to haul anything but

I actually just bought a truck but Im going to use it as a truck. I bought a 2004 nissan titan extended cab / king cab. Im starting a mobile mechanics business and its going to be my workout horse. Otherwise, I would NEVER buy this vehicle and its my second vehicle now so I have another to drive. The plus side is that its super large and comfortable to drive on the road for long periods of time. The downside is the gas tank is super expensive to fill and its hard to park because its so long and wide. Some parking lots require me to make a 3-5 point turn to get it straight into a space and even then my bed or nose will be hanging out. The difference between me and a lot of other truck owners though is mine will be used for work and I bought it CASH. I owe nothing on it. I also owe nothing on my other vehicle. Two cars with no payments is pretty sweet.

I daily a 1998 xj. It hauls most things I need it to, and if I have a bigger load I use a 5x8 tractor supply utility trailer. Gets me by just fine. I’m an electrician so most of the time I’m just hauling tools, but occasionally I’ll have a 6 ft ladder inside it as well

04 Honda crv. 300.9k miles and stays loaded with woodworking and mechanics tools then some. I have maybe 1/2 ton in tools piled in the back. Previous owner had 1.5 ton in iron and tools for towing it behind rigs on the road. Had been driven and flat towed coast to coast.

Currently my daily driver is a 2000 GMC 2500 HD long bed three quarter ton pickup back when I was younger I work a drywall job when I first started that job I drove a 1993 Buick Riviera had all my tools and my ladders in the car I went from that to a little Chevy S10 which was junk eventually I got a 1995 Toyota 4Runner that I asked daily drove for five years and loved it now I have the old GMC I believe that whatever you drive is the right vehicle for the job you just have to know your limitations on space and overcome those limitations. My truck is always hauling loads of lumber drywall car parts engines dirt bikes and quads you name it it hauls it plus my camper and horse trailers eventually I'm going to put some type of toolbox in the back of my truck with having an 8-foot bed I'll still be able to haul everything a 6-foot bed could haul. I guess the main reason I drive that big of a truck is I got it for a really good price

I own a 02 Envoy suv and a Silverado truck, but I work out of my suv almost daily unless I’m hauling drywall or plywood. I am a handyman by trade and I love how everything is dry and secure in my suv. I have a 6x10 trailer, but it’s heavy and a pain, so I parked it at my sons house 😂 I do have 4wd with AT tires on both and I’ve yet to get a job I can’t do. But I ONLY got the truck for the convenience of not having to use my trailer so much, and for more of a luxury.

Everything i do, i do with my 93' XJ, i have an old chevy, but its not road worthy yet, and when that happens its going to be kind of my "show truck" so i will be relieving it of its hauling/pulling duties. My Jeep takes care of everything i need to do and has never let me down!

I finally "upgraded" my "work bus" from a 99 grand Cherokee to a 2000 expedition, and I tell you what I can't stop smiling in the driver seat of that truck Im planing on putting some pull out draws in it tomorrow now that I got the engine all fixed up. keep up the good work ill be watching your content for sure!

Most of my pickup trucks have had camper shells on the back. If I needed to take them off I could. But since guitars and speakers and drums don't like the rain, always preferred to have a shell. In the snow, an SUV works better, but you can't haul furniture in an 04 WJ. "Dont rip the headliner!!!"

Most of my coworkers mountain bike so they’ve all got pick ups with camper shells. Seems pretty useful. I def need a truck for water hauling

My daily is a 2004 avalanche can't say I couldn't do it all with an SUV and trailer but I don't have space to keep another trailer. I already have a small pop up camper in the yard

I daily a 2006 Ford Explorer with a 4.6L V8, and I tow a '65 Ford F100 bed as our dump trailer. We commonly take that over my dad's truck because we can just leave the trailer in the yard and load it as needed, and make a dump run over the weekend. The reason we don't tow with my dad's truck is because as an 05 F150, it doesn't have a stock trailer hitch like mine does, plus it was in an accident and isn't able to have one put on now due to a bent bumper. We could do it with the truck, but it's easier with the Explorer

You know Dan H is towing Jeeps with Jeeps! Lol. Hey, I thought was the only YouTuber to say alliteration in a vid 🤣. You're 200% correct. Don't forget about standing under your lift gate to change into your work clothes in the rain. Another win for the SUV
