My power button worked the last time I used my HP Envy 13-ab077cl notebook laptop. The orange battery charge light which become white when fully charged is working. How can I determine if the power button is working correctly or not? I have removed the bottom cover to access the internals of the laptop. I have a multimeter.

No no hp envy sleekbook 6 to boot from USB i swear i had to disable legacy boot also before it wanted to boot from USB i tried to install Windows 8 2 days now and finally i found out both Secure boot and legacy boot had to be disabled
