Tips for people trying to reduce waste
1. Don’t be too hard on yourself a small difference is better than none.
2. Remember the 3 R’s - refuse, reduce/reuse, and recycle. Compost if you can 😊
3. Always try to your best to avoid plastics the most. Majority of plastics doesn’t get recycled and it only shrinks in size. It takes 1, 000 of years to degrade. Essentially all the plastics in the oceans and our landfills is just sitting there for 1, 000s of years unfortunately 😭
4. Avoid as much packaging of anything in general as must as you can. Cardboards, glass, and metals take up a lot of resources from our Earth.

Again just try your best and work with what you already have and can. Don’t be too hard on yourself because if you do you might end up resenting zero waste like I did in the past. Good luck everyone 😊

I really love reusable straws too! I definitely recommend trying the glass ones too — they feel super nice to drink out of, they’re surprisingly durable, and the fact that they are clear means that you can see that they’re cleaned thoroughly (:

Thanks for the tips, Amanda! It's def a challenge to be zero waste because we are a big family, a vegan fam of SIX to be exact! But we always bring our bags and produce bags to the grocery store/ produce stand/ farmer's market, and bring reusable straws and silverware when eating out. I agree, it's best to keep a stash in your bag and in the car at all times! My next step is to get a reusable Starbucks cup for vegan iced green tea matcha lattes or vegan iced chai yummmm!

Subtly simple! I have a hip bag that I've been clipping my chico bag filled with the mesh bags in too! It's super convenient! Thanks for sharing! 👍

Hi Amanda! I love the message of this video and appreciate you spreading the word on reducing waste! I've been cutting back on my waste for years and am grateful when others do too.

I am not Vegan, but I like to replace a couple of meals per week for the sake of my health and the planet. However, I just recently found out that I am allergic to nuts, so I find inspiration for recipes to be challenging at this time. If you could do a video on nut free recipes or if anyone in the comments happens to read this, I would appreciate some advice on this! Thanks!

I always keep the glass peanut butter jars and use them to make overnight oats. It’s literally the perfect size jar. Also im super excited because my reusable straws are supposed to come in the mail today!

Try to save water while washing dishes! rinse the dishes, close the tap, scub some or all the dishes then rinse! :)

Thank you for this!!! It hurts to see how many people use plastic bags when its so easy just to bring your own reusable one??? ALSO the reusable straws are cute but am I the only one that thinks they are useless and straws in general are unnecessary?? :P xD
