We’re excited to announce Plugable’s first USB-C Phone Docking Station (UD-CUBE-15W) — the Phone Cube! With a compatible DeX-enabled Samsung Galaxy phone, you’ll be able to connect your phone to the dock and hook up an HDMI display to drive a full-on desktop experience. This doesn’t mean just mirroring your phone display (although you can do that too), but you can actually drive an entire desktop complete with an HDMI monitor and USB ports to connect peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse, and a storage device. Don’t forget an Ethernet port for a wired Ethernet connection, too!

The Phone Cube requires that the smartphone support Samsung DeX. Samsung DeX is currently supported on the following models:

Galaxy S8*, Galaxy S8 Plus*, Galaxy S8 Active*
Galaxy Note 8*
Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus
Galaxy Note 9
Galaxy S10 / S10 5G / S10 Plus / S10e
Galaxy Tab S4
Galaxy Tab S5e

*The S8 models require that the phone be updated to Android 9 “Pie” OS. Additionally, these smartphones are not compatible with the Ethernet port on the Phone Cube.

The newer Docks, has ir where some Doxks can have built in storage, and in the not so far future you will have not only an SSD storage and either net port but like a computer and a doxk that will have additional ram for gpu and system.
Plus features that mau come in handy.

DEX has paved and way for micro computers to take place. Not it has come a long way.

This device is laughably expensive for a Microsoft Continuum Dock knock off. You can buy those old Microsoft HD-500 continuum docks for between £15 & £30 online and they work perfectly with DeX and are 100% better build quality than this.

The Dock has on the back 3 x USB A, 1 x USB C Power in, 1 x HDMI and 1 x DisplayPort. In the front it just has the USB Host connect to your DeX Compatible phone.

Works amazing and a fraction of the cost.

Hmm why not use type-c for the power as the Samsung dex dock do? If you bring this on a vacation you have to remember to also bring the ac-adapter.

Looks great, and at a shade below $140, it's definitely something that I'll probably be looking to get.

This may sound like a dumb question, but can I use a wireless keyboard/trackpad with this docking station?

Okay, so i was about to pull the trigger and purchase a Chromebook... then i remembered I have the Galaxy S10e.. purchased that because of DeX support. I have to make a lot of court appearances around the country as part of my work and really only want to bring as little with me as possible. I have an ultra portable 15.6" usb-c monitor and the phone... this device looks pretty awesome. Now, while I do have a heavy laptop that is feature rich, it's overkill for just needing to reference documents. My other option was perhaps using my Samsung tablet. I need the ability to edit documents, compile information, reference info, etc. I can do much directly on my phone yet this device seems like the perfect thing to throw in my backpack along with my USB-C monitor and perhaps, the tablet. But that's it. I don't want to bring my laptop with me. The major plus to going the DeX route is that I already have my internet on my phone, even though I do have a MR1100 hotspot as well. So torn how I want to go about this, but I really, really like this cube device. Just might go ahead and get it, try it out. Thank you.
