Having a helmet with a built in visor is nice. Cloudy day or night? Just use the clear. Sunny and bright, drop down the shade. Don't need to worry about swapping.

Spoiler alert.
1. Have a few drinks to lighten up
2. Get amphetamines in your system (coke, crack, meth etc.) for optimal focus
3. Wear all black for optimal visibility
4. No plates=no case
5. Make sure you're fully gassed so you don't run out of fuel if you get chased by a cop or helicopter

FortNine has really raised the bar for motorcycle content, and I applaud Yammie Noob for starting to up their game. Good video.

Most accidents happen five miles from your home. To be safe, consider moving.

Clear main visor with a secondary tinted dropdown is the best way to go

Remember to ride according to the conditions of the road. Don't go speeding into blind corners or dark spots, assuming that nobody will pop out of there. Riding is all about anticipation.

I'm always super surprised to see videos about this topic fail to mention deer and other animals at night. Way more active, generally harder to see, and if you get horribly injured it would be less likely that someone would be nearby to help you.

I use a transition visor on my Shoei helmet. Automatically changes from clear to dark smoke based on the light available. That way I don’t have to use sunglasses, especially the polarized kind that makes all these prism colors on your gauges

Retro-reflective stripes are actually really effective. Even if you held up a pretty dim light (like even a cellphone flashlight) next you your camera, you'd see them jump out at you, even more so than the high-viz highlighter yellow

I know this video was essentially all equipment driven, one major note is when you see a car at an intersection (you have right away, car has stop sign/right on red) present yourself side to side. Odds are your single headlight is going to blend in with a car way back behind you. If that light starts zigzagging they're not going to pull out in front of you.

I started riding in December and well over half of my 1400 miles have been at night due to how late I get off work, so I'm no expert but personally I think that's great advice that can easily get overlooked

Hey man, I pick up my first bike in about 1 hour from the shop. I am super excited and can't thank you enough for all of your videos, I have learned a TON!!!

Nerdy, but I recently got some polarized amber clip-ons for night driving and was blown away. Completely eliminated the usual glare from incoming headlights.

I choose to not ride in the dark but during winter months, I sometimes have no choice to ride in the dark. It definitely has a different cool factor riding at night and all the lights make the riding sensation a bit more exotic but due to the dangers of other drivers who pay less attention to riders, I avoid it.

I got really fortunate. My sister bought my first helmet for me and it had a clear visor with a lowerable tinted screen, so I was able to ride at night without that fear. Honestly, after doing it a few times, I really enjoy night rides. It's peacful and you can just cruise without worrying about the flow of traffic for the most part. Obvously if youre a speed demon, probably not the same case. But I really enjoy it <3

As a cyclist that had ridden at night several times, I'd recommend getting some of those neon strips that are attached by velcro which you strap on to your legs and arms when cycling. They're compact and can be easily taken off when not needed, plus you can avoid the emergency services worker look. I've also seen guys who ride with AA battery-powered fairy lights on their bodies, that is almost fail proof but absolutely comical to see.
