Want to improve your conversion rates? If so, you've come to the right place. In this episode of IN:60, sponsored by GetResponse, we'll cover 7 proven tips you can use to improve your conversion rates.

For example, did you know that Basecamp improved their conversion rates 102% just by swapping out a photo on their landing page?

It’s true!

Another company saw an 11% increase in conversion rates because they deleted a single field from their sign-up form.

If you’re looking for ways to optimize the conversion rates in your sales funnels, stick around.

My name is Jamie Turner and I’ve spent my career helping companies like Coca-Cola, AT&T and Holiday Inn grow their sales and revenues and I’m about to show you some of the tips and techniques I shared with them.

Ready to get started? Let’s dive in!

Okay, today, we’re going to talk about 3 important things:
• First, we’ll talk about the metrics behind a successful conversion rate funnel
• Second, we’ll talk about how you can set up a sales funnel in a few easy steps using the GetResponse Autofunnel
• And finally, I’m going to give you 7 proven techniques you can use to optimize your conversion rates

Okay, first things first. Let’s do a quick recap of the metrics behind a traditional sales funnel.

Now that we’ve done a recap of how a sales funnel can work, let’s take a look at how to simplify the process with the GetResponse AutoFunnel.

And then we’ll look at 7 proven techniques that you can use to improve your conversion rates.

Alrighty, then. Let’s talk about 7 proven techniques you can use to get better conversion rates.

Tip #1: Test your way to success. You’ve read things on the internet about doing one thing or another can improve your results. Don’t believe any of it. It’s all bullshit. Well, let me explain. Just because something works for one audience doesn’t mean it’ll work for your audience. So no matter what you hear, test the technique with your audience. That’s called testing your way to success and it’s the only way to run a top-notch marketing campaign.

Tip #2: Hyperfocus your copy. Your goal is for the person reading it to say “This content was written specifically for me.”

Tip #3: Focus on existing customers first, and new customers second. What do I mean by this? Studies show that it’s easier to get existing customers to buy again than it is to get a new customer to buy the first time. So if you have a product or a service that people have to buy more than once, focus on getting your existing customers to buy again rather than focusing on people who haven’t bought from you before. Once you’ve done that, you can move on to new customers. But remember … focus on getting existing customers to buy again first, and then move on to new customers.

Tip #4: Use target grouping. Studies show that we instinctively follow in the footsteps of other people who we have things in common with. In other words, when we see people like us behaving a certain way, we’re more likely to follow. Let me give you an example -- one study tested how to get people to re-use their towels at hotels. The first sign said “Please re-use your towels to help the environment.” But when they tested a second sign that said “Most of our guests are re-using their towels to help the environment” incidence of re-usage went up 26%!

Tip #5: Set expectations: Showing readers a preview of what they’re going to sign up for can increase conversion rates. I increased my e-newsletter subscriber rate on the 60 Second Marketer 23% when I provided explicit details of what people would get and could expect when they signed up.

Tip #6: Test where to put your call to action: Studies show that putting your call-to-action buttons above the fold can improve your conversion rate. In fact, Nature Air tested above the fold and below the fold buttons and increased their conversion rate from 2.78% to almost 19% when it was above the fold.
