I’m half Korean half Dominican and I went to a club in Korea and wasn’t allowed in because my skin wasn’t pure white and I didn’t look “Korean enough” even after I showed them my Korean passport(I have a dual citizenship). Everyone there is so incredibly racist and it’s quite unfair.

Honestly America really is one of the least racist countries just bc we’re one of the few to actually recognize and address it
Edit: I’m not saying there’s no racism just better than other countries

People fail to realize that the states is a whole different world compared to, ironically, the rest of the world. Canada is close to being like the states, where ethnicities are mixed. The states are a whole clisterfu*ck of cultures, religions, ethnicities, and even nationalities that it doesn't make sense to be racist because we're all so different that it'd cause a civil war split into races.

People don't like to admit it but if you go to Mexico and you're not Mexican, you'll face a lot of racism and backlash. Same in China, same in Russia, same in Japan, same in Korea. For us in the states, everyonr experiences racism every once in a while, but you don't get to understand the full course meal until you go somewhere far more "concentrated" with people who do not look like you. That's when you start thinking to yourself "Maybe the states wasn't such a bad place"

As a white person I experience things like this all the time where someone will say something “racist” to a white person but if the roles were switched the white person would be in huge trouble

Not like we used to have bars that didn't allow black ppl like 50 years ago or something

Another thing: Every time I see a video about this topic, someone in the comments always says “it’s not racist it’s just their culture you wouldn’t understand” which is also an incredibly racist statement.

Edit: There’s a war going on in the replies

As a person that has been to Japan, this is true. It’s like they get a free pass to not being hated

When a business excludes people, take it as a business loss, not against you.

Racism (aswell as slavery)
where always an issue debated in the West
in the rest of the world neither needed to be defended
it was the norm and anything else was an outlandish thought

If anyone says 'well the place didn't let a white guy in and white people can't experiance racism, so it isn't racist.' Japanese only also means no black, middle-eastern, indigenous people ect too. Yes it very much is racist. Btw I do also think white people can experiance racism, especially in countries where they aren't the majority.

Once when I went to Japan as a teenager (by that point I spoke decent Japanese thanks to Duolingo and Japanese relatives)
and I was told the same.
Then they let my 14 year old Japanese cousin in 😂 💀

I told them in Japanese that he was only 14 and if they were ok with that why was I banned, seeing I was the same age
They legit said to me “Your white.”
That’s the only explanation I got 💀

Bro they also need signs on trains basically saying « hey, taking photos of peoples underwear or groping them is illegal btw! »

People tend to forget how different America is from the rest of the world. Especially in the US where It’s so racially, ethnically, culturally and religiously diverse that being racist or xenophobic doesn’t make sense here, and America was founded on principles of equality (Kinda sorta sometimes). Unlike the US, if you go to a place like Japan, China, Saudi Arabia or Russia, where it is racially and culturally homogeneous, you will be looked at and treated differently because you don’t look like you fit in. People like to think the rest of the world operates on western values and principles when that’s just not the case.
