Can't thank you enough for the video and details about stretching. Same age as you and just talked to the doctor today about the same symptoms. She said pretty much what you did. Recommended the pelvic floor work, different seat and reduced time on the bike. Glad your feeling better. Hoping I'll be back to "normal" soon. Thanks again!

Thank God you are talking about it! I plan to do the 210 miles Summer Solstice Ride about June 20 for me, my friends and other people!

I'm 38 and have this problem since my early 30's. So its also the young guys. The big problem for me is my mental reaction on the mild iritation. I tense up and especially in my pelvic floor. This tension irritates it even further. So its a loop you get stuck in. At first i didn't know and i was in total agony. But after seeing two urologists and two cystocopies (one of the most unpleasant test a man can do. Even worse than a rectal exam😅) it was clear i was in perfect working order and it was caused by pressure on my pelvic floor (muscular and/or external) I also want to metion that every exercise or movement that puts pressure on the plevic floor, squats or deadlifts for example, can agrevate the prostate even more.
I had good luck with a cheap bbb bsd-72 saddle. Did 1200km in 10 days from luxemburg to Switzerland 80% unpaved on it with zero problems. It looks a bit soft at first, but in my logic it dissipates the pressure more.
Thanks for the info. Not allot out there.

Hey man, thanks for your video. Everything recognizable. I'm recovering right now. I cycle 2 times a week but since corona I also went on cycling holidays. 10 Days in a row on the bike. 2 times after that I got prostatitis. Because some symptoms resemble prostate cancer, I've been fully vetted. That's painful and stressful I can tell you. Now I am working on a different saddle and have had my bike adjusted differently. Before I forget, because you can't urinate properly, you can get a bladder infection or an infection for which you do need antibiotics. Anyway, save trafels.

I used to ride my mountain bike 13 miles from school to home several days a week for a couple of years. I was 317 lbs at the time trying to lose weight and think that being so heavy put to much pressure on my prostate leading to frequent urinating…that an the onset of diabetes. I rode but didn’t really change my eating habits, so I was still riding heavy tough I had lost a few pounds. I quit biking like that in 2013 or 14 and eventually got rid of my bike because I got scared to ride it. Have since lost about 70 lbs and my A1C is much better. I’m still losing weight and I would love to start riding again, but am still scared/apprehensive in fear of doing anything to possibly aggravate my prostate. Do you think an electric MTB and limiting the pedal action would be a good way to go in regards to prostate issues. Gonna address this at my next doctors visit, but wouldn’t mind the feedback if anyone has been in a similar situation. Take Care 🤙🏾

I hide my prostate removed a few years ago which led to bladder issues. Riding a bike causes flare ups. I tried different bike seat no luck.

Awesome video. I really appreciate it.
I’ve had a few bouts of painful urination as well as what feels like pain directly in my prostate
Actually, things went all to hell today and that is why I am searching the Internet.
I also live in Santa Cruz.
I am 65 and probably 50 pounds overweight but I ride for about 90 minutes to 2 hours every day fairly hard.
I will take some time off and hopefully things will mend.
I am wondering about bike seats.
If there is one that is designed to lift that area off of the seat and without pressure completely?
Sounds impossible, but what do I know?
I have gone through many seats as well for chafing reasons.
I believe that my weight puts extra pressure on that area as well which is something that I need to deal with.

Anyway, the Internet can be a confusing place but my gut feeling tells me that you and I are on the same page and I appreciate you posting

I've only been riding for 3 month but doing it pretty much everyday.
And i've been getting some pain in the grom area, and i need to pee more than before.
Seems weird that it's happenning after only 3 month.
