How to change AF modes | Nikon D7000

Thank you! I grabbed my D7000 after years from the shelf again. Tried all buttons i could find to change this, but forgot and didnt notice that there is a button there as well lol.

when i change the autofocus mode, it only allows me to switch between AF-S and AF-F. is there something i have to have set to get AF-C?

Thanks! My AF-mode button is NOT activating the focus mode icons.
My M/AF switch around that button IS set to AF.
Is there some other way to turn auto focus on besides that switch? Or any other way to get my AF-mode button to activate the focus mode icons for adjustment?

Which af mode is the best for both portrait and group photos? While I shoot group photos In AF-A, only one or two person in the photo don't look flu. Except for those ones everyone looks very flu. How can i fix that?
