I'd been following Khatia for a couple of years on YouTube and I added a 'Khatia' performance to my bucket list - even if I had to travel across the world to see her.
Then one cold March evening in 2018, two unassuming young girls got into my taxi, carrying Burger King trays. They looked like a pair of students, dressed in jeans and wearing bubble coats and woolly hats.
It was dark, but I caught a glimpse of one of the pair and I quickly thought 'she looks like Khatia', but knew that it couldn't be her - besides, Khatia would be travelling in a limo!
Then, I noticed that the girls were talking in a Russian-sounding language and their requested destination was The Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool - which happens to be situated right opposite the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
When we arrived at the hotel, I asked her if she played piano - she replied 'yes'.
I said 'Khatia?' She said 'Yes!'
She was smiling widely by now and I blurted out 'Khatia Buniatishvili???' She seemed as excited as me and exclaimed 'Yes!'
Khatia was amazed that I knew who she was and I marvelled at the realisation that she had got into my taxi-cab - when she could have got into any one of 1500 cabs in Liverpool.
The other girl was Gvantsa - her sister!
I found out that she was performing the following evening at the Philharmonic and I dashed home to book tickets online.
Dreams come true!

Miss Khatia is a very brilliant pianist, full of talent, who plays with a passion that can be admired at every step. If, then, she is also an attractive and sensual woman, what harm is there? We love you, Khatia!

Khatia Buniatishvili is one of a most beautiful pianist in the world, not as a woman but as a artist and pianist style on her concerts. She is as one with the instrument, a body with a piano. She is a pianist, ful of feelings and positive energy. That is why, her concerts are so atractive for the audience. On the music stage she is as a star, as same as on fashion stage with recognisable figure. I adore her, and i have been listening very often. With all respect to Khatia, Dimitrije Mirchevski, from Skopje - North Masedonia.

What a talented and stunningly beautiful woman! She is amazing! I am so glad she dresses the way she does and ignores the critics! Most of them are just jealous of her!

Could we possibly avoid two things? One, any comparisons with Lang Lang (which I've heard elsewhere but thankfully not here) and two, any criticisms about what she chooses to wear. She is a remarkably individual pianist who seems to take a fresh approach to even the most familiar pieces - those who haven't heard it should listen to her dazzling performance of Tchaikovsky's 1st piano concerto. You will never hear a more original interpretation. She is already a world class talent and we should celebrate her. Thank you so much for sharing this with us :)

She played Claude Debussy suite to my great delight and brought back my memories of this piece where my love for my sweet wife first flourished perfection and she is as beautiful as my first and only love in music as in body a very precious girl
