stretching will go much easier for you if you use materials like implant grade uncoated steel/titanium or glass! there's a ton of cute glass plugs in a variety of colors and they can be double flared as well :) coated metal or plastic to make them black will irritate your lobes over time and make them take longer to stretch and at higher risk for infection and tears/blowouts.

double flared plugs are the way to go to keep your gauges in! i have 00g and used the same kind while i was stretching/healing. i moved to silicone double flares after healing (which are more prone to falling out than the metal ones, but the slight flares still help) for comfort reasons.
