Do not listen to the no suit crowd - some things deserve a nice suit and that includes great pipe organ music. Yay for the suit!

And “oh my goodness”, brother Billie can truly play his guitar. Bravo, Billy!

As a church organist for 60 years, I know good when I see it. You are amazingly good, a fine musician, and I adore how you weave in music history, musicology, organ history, performance, secular history, architecture, art, hymnology, and liturgy into your videos. It's just wonderful stuff. Always look forward to your work. Do what you're doing. More of the same. And thank you! Paul Novosel

Billy - thank you for your beautiful and masterful contributions to this episode.

Ben - thank you for continuing to introduce us to so many beautiful and fascinating hidden gems we would otherwise never know even existed.

May I make a suggestion to the parishes you visit? When Ben comes to visit, you should consider having a parish party after he has completed his videos and performance. Maybe he could play his set as an after dinner treat. Since you are getting free advertising, take up a collection for his hard work. Leading up to his visit (or during or after) have a bake sale and other village fundraisers e.g., a hog roast or BBQ. A homemade ice cream social! Make it a whole village party! That’d be fun! At least, that is what we would do in the U.S. Consider having a prayer service and blessing for him.

Coming from the “wide brown land” of Australia, it never ceases to amaze me how much open space exists in the small gem called England, and the history connected to it. All of these churches and villages have great charm and appeal.

You look quite nice in a suit. Quite appropriate when in church.

Just one supporter's opinion, but I don't think you will go wrong no matter what you chose. I enjoy your review of the churches, the organs, your playing, and your philosophical musings. Only one request: please go back to Fovant when the organ is completely restored. I'm interested in what 21st century organ builders do with a 125-year-old instrument.

A half century ago, as a child, I used to look forward to Sunday evening when the weekly broadcasts of Jacques Cousteau and Wild Kingdom would air. It’s not been since then that I’ve eagerly awaited a Sunday broadcast, which your YouTube channel now offers. Well done Ben, the research journey took you only a few miles away from our stomping grounds in Dorset. A fascinating road trip, and I couldn’t agree more on where the ideal place to enjoy a peaceful lunch actually is… now for those special two recipes, a great video idea when traveling about just isn’t in the cards.

Ben, I really appreciated the suit....I saw it as the difference between practicing and performing and with that, honoring the composer, the church and, of course, the organ and all YOUR work (in getting through school AND for each performance!) in order to make it sound AWESOME . Thankyou for it ALL.

Thank you Ben! My favorite quote: Footage 15:45
"I could play Widor's Toccata until the cow's come home.
But if you want to really get people's attention...
Bring out a cat." Brilliant. Purr. Anastasia is pleased.

This pilgrimage was very inspiring. So many beautiful village churches. My personal preference is for the churches to keep the pews. Somehow chairs do not enhance the churches character and charm (Oakford Fitzpaine for example). Thank you for introducing Anastasia the cat.
My favourite hymns for you to play would be: Be still my soul and All things bright and beautiful 😊

Good heavens, Joseph Damer (1st. Earl of Dorchester) seems to have been a right beastly bastard! Who does something so wicked to a town and its people? Another wonderful presentation with a priceless tour of beautiful southern England, and its historical churches. Thanks and cheers to Billy, as well.

Don’t listen to the suit-haters! Organs and suits are a match made in heaven!

Well Ben, you are getting great "mileage" out of your " Man Cave" on wheels! The caravan makes a fine base of operations.
Why would anyone discourage you from wearing a suit, especially if you are wearing red socks!
A chilly, cloudy day here in Northern Vermont, but thanks to you, the warmth of your music, and cheerful countenance, ours is a better place.
Blessings on you and any sandwich you may fabricate, even if is fish paste!☺
