Let's solve it by linear equations
Breadth = B
Length = L
B = L-3 ( Given)

Let's find area 1/2 × (L-3)×12 = (6L-18)

Let's add 4 more (6L-18) +4 = (6L-14)

Area of Rectangle :-
L(L-3) = 6L-14
L²-9L+14
By Quadratic formula
We will get 2 solutions 2 and 7
2 isn't practically possible hence we will consider 7

Length = 7
Breadth = 7-3 = 4

let length be x & breadth be (x-3)
So, the equation so formed is: x^2-3x=6x-14
X^2-9x+14=0 Therefore, (x-7)(x-2) are the solutions
So, we can say that x=7 is the length because the value of x can never be less than 3 i, e. breadth=x-3
Hence, length=7m & breadth=7-3=4m

area of the triangle =1/2(b x h)= 1/2(x-3)(12)=(x-3)(6)=6x-18
area of the rectangle=4=6x-18=6x-14
area of rectangle formula =l x b
so, 6x-14=(x-3)(x)
6x-14=x^2-3x
AFTER SIMPLIFICATION,
x^2-9x+14=0
AFTER SOLVING,
(X-7)=0 & (X-2)=0
X=7 &X=2
IF WE CHECK WITH THE BREADTH,
breadth=x-3
if x=7,
7-3=4

ifx=2,
2-3=-1
because the measurement cannot be in the negative we take the x value as
length=7
breadth=4
