Gen 8: '08-'12 Honda Accord Coupe. - - FIXED! Read below. Opposite side Wheel bearing bad.
Horrible front end noise. Humming. I replaced the passenger side wheel bearing TWICE with Timkens. It's NOT the passenger side wheel bearing. What the f is this noise?? It's been happening 2 years and 30,000 miles and getting louder. help.

I've been working on all different makes of vehicles for 17 years now and I've done a fair share of fixing wheel bearings. When I first heard this noise I immediately questions a motor mount somewhere gone bad and vibrating through the chassis. All were fine.
Every failed bearing I've diagnosed was from turning the tire and hearing it or up and down play by twisting the tire off the ground. Even a grinding sound when driving it.
This sound blew my mind. I checked the 2011 Honda accord wheels as I do all wheel bearings and it told me good all the way. I started checking other components.
I found this video and it you said wheel bearing was it so I committed and changed the passenger sides bearing. That was it. No more noise. Appreciate the video. It solved a lot of headache.

I know this is four years ago, but my 2018 accord makes this sound right now and I’m gonna get it fixed. I was thinking trans at first but it shifts fine. I didn’t wanna be ripped off thank you so much bro!

MY CAR HAS BEEN MAKING THIA NOISE FOR LIKE A MONTH. I just got my oil changed and I thought it was the engine. But then I was like I do need new tires but why on earth would tires have anything to do with this sound! And now I know why!! This video saved me money, stress and time

I have been searching high and low for a video with someone showing this sound! I stumbled upon your video. This is literally my car! Thank you for showing the actual problematic sound, not just the diagnosis.

Great video! You helped me diagnose a wheel bearing. That sound is very distinct and collocates with vehicle speed.

Okay so I’ve had this problem for a while and it’s so annoying, I looked it up and figured out it was the wheel bearing. Unfortunately mine are the two front wheels! Thank you for the video

Had the same noise with a used 2012 Accord I just got with only 49, 000 miles on it. Replaced both in the front and the noise went away. I'm the sole owner of my 2000 Accord with 347, 000 miles on it and still going. I've never had to replace the wheel bearings on it.

I had a passenger side CV axle on a '98 Accord that had been clicking for a long time, finally exploded violently at highway speeds, at the hub end. I replaced both axles. Took it for a test drive and had this exact sound, but maybe not as loud. I thought it sounded like gear whine that got progressively louder with more speed. I thought maybe it was the new axles whining, or hoping the transmission wasn't having a problem, but it shifted fine and the noise did not vary with shift RPM. So now, thanks to your video showing this clearly, I feel certain it is my wheel bearing, and I feel it was probably damaged when the CV axle EXPLODED. Thank-you for this, it was super helpful.

As soon as you started driving, I knew it was the wheel bearings.

Exactly the way my 98 Accord sounds. I've got to get new tires soon. I'll have the bearings replaced as well. I'm glad I found your video.

So it was a wheel bearing even though there was no play in the rim when you moved it up and down and left and right?

I lifted the whole front end yesterday and hand spun the wheels. The driver side - as fast as I can spin it which is not that fast - is louder now. And it almost sounds like it's making the very start of that humming noise - just barely. When I spin the passenger side that bearing is quiet, and the axle(s) make the driver side spin at the same time, and I'm thinking I can hear the driver side noise on the passenger side. The noise was particularly loud yesterday driving at 70 mph and a friend and I seemed to finally be able isolate the noise is coming from the driver side. So I am now ordering a DRIVER side wheel bearing and will try that next. I have already replaced the PASSENGER side wheel bearing twice and it didn't fix anything. Remember the noise goes away turning hard to the right and gets worse turning hard left and braking. So it always seemed to point to the passenger side being bad. Maybe this is one of those rare cases it's the other way around.

Why does my honda accord 2010 only 60k such low mileages but already have a bad wheel bearing?

My Honda Accord is making the same noise. Just done my rebalancing and rotation of tyres. Didn't help. Noise starts at 25mph and gets louder when faster.
