I had a dealer that I bought coke from, one day he invited me to dinner with his family, and after he told me he wouldn't sell to me anymore. I asked why, he said because he was scared for me, he helped me get sober and then after that I never saw him again. Best dude.

Cuts off the best punchline: There are a lot of stories of drug dealers turning people into drug addicts, but I might be the first drug addict to turn a normal person into a dealer.

Some pushers are just good people that made bad choices. When I got sober my heroin dealer sent me his best wishes, and a few months later I was going to have a relapse but he refused to sell me anything, saying he preferred my health to my 50€. Thanks, Max!

My dealer when I told him I was struggling with addiction and was going to stop buying told me “man you should have said some shit to me I ain’t tryna watch yo ass die”

Ok as a substance abuse counselor, this is very relatable. I've had patients who have told me their drug dealers were getting worried about them because of the amount and frequency of their use, they weren't "partying" anymore they were clearly in addiction, it happens! I also used to work with people in the courts who had sold drugs and a lot of them had started selling to try to support their habit and then were trapped in the lifestyle. Its a good reminder that dealers are people too.

Arvin: "you aint breaking up with me John. You break up with your other dealers but not me" *puts another emotional hook in john*

Most drug dealers are surprisingly good people who made bad decisions. When i got sober years ago dealers kept calling me asking if i was alive and i told them i went to rehab ans got sober. Every one geniunly sounded happy for me and wished me luck.

That’s actually the nicest thing I’ve ever heard

I have never met a dealer who is mad to hear that a good paid in full customer gets their life in order. Most dealers are chill.

John is an incredibly talented comedian. The delivery is perfect. I hope he stays sober and keeps bringing us laughter. High five John.

Makes me think of a story I read where someone started getting sober and from then on their main dealer refused to sell to them and told other dealers in the area to also not sell to them.
And before they got sober, the dealer always checked them for signs of self harm.

I had friends that, upon my quitting drinking said 'oh thank God, the only reason we let you come over and drink every weekend despite you being kind of an ass and throwing up on the floor was because we were scared that if we weren't available you'd go out or try to find other people that could possibly take advantage of you.'

The idea that john hit this guy up for drugs so many times, that the guy learns how to use tor and get on the dark web to buy drugs, commiting many felonies in the process, just to protect john from a potential accidental fent OD is actually the kindest and most understanding things ive heard in a long time.

That doesn’t sound like a dealer.

That sounds like a friend that knows you’re not ready to get off the stuff and they’re willing to take the risk as well to get you quality stuff so it lessens the chances of you dying. That’s a real friend truly

alot of street level dealers are just "that guy i worked with who needs some extra cash to make rent" or someone struggling with addiction themselves and would honestly probably be glad to hear you went sober
