For all these reasons, I am holding on to my old vehicles instead of buying new ones.

BUYING A NEW CAR IS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE IN EVERY WAY! Those dealerships, salespeople, and mark-ups are why I still drive my 22 year old car!

Never ever thought I’d see the day Toyota would start making unreliable junk. Incredible.

My friend and his wife wanted a new Rav4, they go to Toyota, needed an appointment😂, went back the next week for their appointment, no Rav4's in stock, 2 month wait for a plain gas LE, Toyota wouldn't guarantee their trade in value, wouldn't deal, lowballed their trade, and had add ons totalling $1300. They left and went straight to Mazda, the dealership had 23 new CX5's in stock and 4 at my friend's desired basic trim level and without cylinder deactivation, dealer knocked $1k off MSRP, gave them their asking price on their trade and included snow tires on OE steelies no extra charge, no add-ons. They were in and out in an hour including a good test drive. Picked up their new CX5 a few days later, couldn't be happier with the car or the purchase experience. Toyota has worse problems than just the current engine recalls I would say.

Toyota lost out on money from me, because I was going to buy my wife a new Camry and I was going to start driving her 2015, but when I found out the Camry is Hybrid only now I decided to go buy myself a good used car.

All brands ar filled with electronic crap these days. Toyota has to step back and start to make simple reliable cars again.

When government places mandates on vehicles the consumer always winds up getting the shaft

More tech means more problems, need to go back to simplicity....sometimes less is better

60 years ago, my father had to cope with poorly built products from the "Big Three" U.S. automakers. For the most part, the powertrains were very reliable but the car would either fall apart or rust out, and these issues came baked-in from the factory.

The main reason why Toyota sales are falling is because nobody has any money😁

How can Toyota say "hybrid sales are up" when at the same time they are getting rid of vehicles that are a regular combustion engine? If the ratio between these types of vehicles stayed the same than this statement would hold water, but this is not the case. They just offer less models that have regular combustion engines as a option for their customers to buy.

Offered a Toyota dealership MSRP for a Prius limited. Stupid I know! They rejected my offer. Now I look at all the dealerships these things are sitting. The car has been on the lot for over 3 weeks clearly no suckers left. Inventory is piling, tons of inventory for top trims. They are calling me every single day now day begging me to buy at MSRP. 😂I’m good, working on a civic hybrid deal, I offered them 2k under and they are thinking about it while I watch their inventory pile up now too. Something has broken. I’m not buying anymore. Time to wait till the end of the year.

Still dailying my 1996 Mercedes C280 with 190k miles. All 6 cylinders haven't lost any compression and all I did was replace everything outside the engine a year ago. That little old merc has been the biggest unforseen blessing of my mid to late 20s.

Never would I ever buy a new car. My 96 has zero distractions, exempt from emissions in my area, very minimal electronics, pretty simple to fix yourself, and its fun to drive. Ill probably keep driving old Mercedes my entire life 😅

EVERYTHING TODAY IS MADE CHEAPLY WITH CORNERS CUT AND QUALITY COMPROMISED! Sad sign of the times we now live in!

When you realise the cars of the 80s and 90s had no electronics or tech under their cars and were the most reliable cars of their time and today I've virtually lost count of how much shit that's been rammed in my car today most of it completely unnecessary 😂
