And that is why if I have this type of incident in my classroom and it’s big enough I have to write home I make it clear that while I didn’t hear it so I can’t confirm it was said/done but another child did say they heard/saw it. One year I did add on “for the record, I think your child is telling me the truth saying they didn’t” when two children were messing around in the bathroom and both were adamant the other one was doing something.
