Revan to the emperor: HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN

I've always known that Revan's "life" is incredibly long by legendary figures-standard, but seeing it all concised in the span of *just* one hour REALLY exacerbates that. The mere fact that Revan held on for so long to the point that he even met AND fought his own descendants no less is incredible. To say that he influenced many events in galactic history is a dire understatement. Even the lifespan and impact of 'modern' figures in galactic history like Yoda and the like would seem small in comparison. That is so crazy to think about in retrospect.

How come star wars hasn't made series out of this, like this is literally perfect tv show or movie material.

Revan's life is one of heroism, villainy, conquest, liberation, redemption, tragedy, love and destruction. He defied the Jedi order saying that they should have helped the Republic in stopping the Mandalorians. Then he created his own group of loyalists to take matters into his own hands and his feats and accomplishments became widespread. However as he became more desperate, the closer he came to the dark side. So much so started a long journey of finding the Star Forge which he thought would bring him and the Republic victory. In the process however, he started to become more and more drawn to the Dark Side just after obliterating Malachor into nothing and after confronting the Emperor which they sought to kill, they instead fell completely to the Dark Side of the force. His servitude to the Emperor would be short lived as once they found the Star Forge, the Emperor's influence only wained. Once free of the Emperor's leash, he and Malak thought of using for their own but what were once great childhood friends now became the bitterest of rivals as Revan wasn't fully corrupted by the Star Forge's dark energy whereas Malak became consumed by it. So after losing his jaw to his old friend/master Malak wanted to make sure Revan payed dearly so stabbed him in the back while he was distracted and taking the title of Dark Lord of Sith for himself.



It would have been over for Revan if it weren't for a certain Bastila Shan who decided to spare him and convince the Jedi Council to strip him of his memory and give him a new identity. So placed under Bastila's watchful eye, Revan would start a new beginning which would change him forever. As time went by, he slowly recovered some of his former power and memories but also realized that a strange bond existed between him and Bastila. Naturally he was curious and confused at first but as time went by, he and Bastila started to become closer to the point where it became more than just a simple platonic relationship. Bastila of course would constantly deny this but when she along with Revan and his companions were captured by Malak, it was here that Bastila would do something that would suggest that she did indeed had feelings for Revan. She decided to sacrifice herself to buy Revan and his companions enough time to escape Malak's clutches but instead falling to Malak's blade she survived. With Revan, it would be here that his memory of who he was finally returned and he finally realizes what kind of person he was. Despite knowing of what the atrocities Revan committed in the past, his companions decided to accept him for who he was now and not what he used to be. So he continued along with his companions to find where the Star Forge was and upon finding it's location, Revan encounters a fallen Bastila who tries to tempt him at first to join the Dark Side beside her but Revan of course refused. In a final epic battle that would decide that fate of the Galaxy, the Republic and Jedi launched an attack on the Star Forge with Revan and his companions at the forefront. After battling and defeating numerous Sith Warriors, Revan encounters the woman whom he cared for the most using her special power against the Republic to strengthen the Sith. So he duels with Bastila and after three defeats, Bastila knew she couldn't defeat Revan and begged him to end her life. However, it was here that Revan admits something he had always wanted to believe all this time. His love for Bastila. Upon admitting it to her, Bastila said that she loves him too with all her heart and that nothing would ever make her feel safer than to be loved by him. They're conversation would only end when Revan tells Bastila that she needed to use her Battle Meditation to aid the Republic in the battle and that he would encounter and kill Malak once and for all. Eventually, it is as just Malak and Revan on their own to duke it out to see who was the stronger one. And eventually it was Revan who prevailed over Malak but instead of executing him outright, he instead felt regret for causing all this conflict and making his once childhood friend to continue on a path of darkness shortly before Malak died of his wounds. After the battle, Revan and his lover Bastila along with his companions became heroes and Revan's status became legendary as he was the only one who can command both the Light and Dark Side of the Force since he was Sith and Jedi in one.



However Revan felt his duty wasn't over yet and upon regaining more of his memory, he finally remembered the true threat that was the Sith Emperor Vitiate. The one who instigated and manipulated him, Malak and others to start conflict after conflict within the Galaxy for his own vanity. So he told Bastila about his perilous journey and that she should come with him but she can't because she was pregnant with their child and she couldn't leave the child behind. Revan decided to make the difficult decision to leave his love behind with their child but what he didn't know was that that would be the last time he would ever see his wife's beautiful face ever again. So he left to confront the Sith Emperor to being peace to the Galaxy but upon arriving on the Sith Capital, he would only be captured and tortured for years for information. All this time he hoped and promised to Bastila that he will return someday to see her and their beloved son. And he would get a vision of not his wife but instead of his protegee and close friend Meetra Surik rescuing him. Either way, he welcomed it and felt calm after a long time being tortured by Lord Scourge. Eventually, Meetra did come alongside his droid companion T3-M4 to rescue him from the hellhole that was the Sith Capital. Once he was free, Meetra gave him back the mask he wore all those years ago and wore it back on. What he saw however, would only bring everything back to him. Every memory of his past life, the things he did, what he experienced all came back to his head which caused him to faint in horror. Taking advantage of this, Darth Nyriss attacked both Meetra and Scourge who had now decided to fight alongside Revan to defeat the Emperor. Revan however got up from the ground and simply announced that he was reborn and before him, Nyriss was nothing. Nyriss tries to attack but was only defeated when Revan used her own attack against her which turned her into nothing more than a pile of ash. After the confrontation, Revan and his three companions battled their way to the Sith Emperor's throne room, defeating any opposition that stood in there way. Once they reached the emperor, Meetra and Scourge fought the Imperial Guards while Revan went for the Emperor himself. Despite his power, the Emperor noticed how strong Revan was in the Force as he used both the Light and Dark to strengthen himself and match the Emperor in almost every way. Just when the Emperor was about to deal a killing blow, his droid companion T3-M4, made a self-sacrifice by firing his flamethrower at the Emperor but while this did nothing, it did distract the Emperor at the cost of the droids own life. Seeing this Revan, presses the attack and delivers all his power into defeating the Sith Emperor. The two became evenly matched until once again the Emperor was about to deal a killing blow. Seeing him in trouble, Meetra throws her lightsaber at the Emperor's own to save Revan which causes the Emperor to stumble back. Now that it was Revan, Meetra and Scourge together to fight the Emperor, the battle seemed like it would be over soon. And then, the unthinkable happens. Just as Meetra was about strike, she was then stabbed in the back by Scourge and the lightsaber pierced through her heart, killing her instantly. Revan became momentarily shocked and the Sith Emperor took full advantage of this and shot a torrent of lightning at Revan decided which incapacitated him. Again he was taken prisoner and tortured but this time not for a few years or a decade but for three whole centuries kept alive only through Sith Alchemy.

Perhaps the most terrible thing for Revan is that since he will stay imprisoned for three hundred years, he will never get to see his wife and son despite promising to return. All while he was gone Bastila, dreamt of Revan coming back someday... but as the years went by and she became a Jedi Master and member of the Jedi Council, Revan never came back which made her worried since she hasn't seen him in years. Eventually Bastila would die of old age and presumably grief not knowing where Revan went, what he did or what had happened to him. And their son? He would never even see his Father's face come back as he too would die of old age all while Revan was being tormented by the Sith Emperor. It's not just his family though, all of his friends and former companions would pass away too until Revan lost everyone he knew and showed cared for with only Meetra's Force Ghost to comfort him through his pain and sorrow.



Can you imagine if this happened to you? Not only do you lose everything you have but everyone you love and cared for. Your family, friends and loyal companions all taken away from you. Being tortured and made to suffer for three centuries worth of pain and seeing everyone and everything you knew taken away from you. If that's not tragic I don't know what is.

He made me a Sith Lord and named me Darth Revan. I killed for him, I turned on the Republic, but I have found redemption. There was a time, a moment when my destiny wasn't certain. Revan: You should be one with the Force. Finally at peace.
Meetra: No peace while you suffer. The Emperor drowns you in black waters.
Revan: He wants me to be Darth Revan again. Serve him as I did centuries ago.
Hero of Tython: The holorecords say you brought the Republic to its knees as a Sith, and saved it as a Jedi. They also say you are long dead.
Revan: I am dead... and reborn, over and over. Jedi... Sith... many lifetimes. I led my allies to the galaxy's edge to destroy the Emperor. We didn't understand his true power then. I lost everyone, betrayed from within. The Emperor imprisoned me, and kept me alive through machinery and Sith Alchemy... used me.
Hero of Tython: What use were you to him, locked up in here?
Revan: I have known both sides of the Force, Light and Dark. To him, I was a conduit. The Emperor used me as his link to the Light Side of the Force, the Jedi Order. But I was in his mind, too. I convinced the Emperor that peace was in his best interest. Tempered his hate.
Meetra: The peace is lost. The Emperor makes his final war. Stop him. Flee this place while you can. Use the enemy's vessels.
Revan: Thank you, old friend. I will finish what we started.

Great comprehensive video as always! Revan is my favorite Star wars character of all time, his story is amazing. While I wasn’t a fan of the novel or SWTOR and how they handled him and the Exile, I appreciate your detailed recounting of those events.

Bastila: I am a Sith apprentice now! You place too much faith in what I used to be... and for that, you shall pay! I ask you for an honorable death, but you are too weak to even grant me that! No more words! This must end with blood!
