It was only last week that Mat had to wave goodbye to his Audi R8 Spyder long-term daily driver.

But fear not! He’s already swapped it for another Audi - an Audi RS7 Sportback Performance! Mat’s been allowed to spec this car exactly as he wants it, so in this video, he’s going to take you on a walk through exactly what he’s chosen, while also taking you on a drive with this new long-term Sportback!

So for starters, let’s check out the design. Naturally, Mat went for the top-of-the-range Carbon Vorsprung pack, so there’s loads of carbon to be found on the outside, from the badges and side skirts through to the side mirrors and grille. Some of these are additional options that cost a few hundred pounds each, but there’s one option that costs so much more. The Ascari Blue matt finish paint comes in at around £6,000!!

Step inside and the interior is oh-so nice. Even if the design is a few years old now, it still looks really smart. There’s a large infotainment screen in the centre of the dash, coupled with a large digital dial screen. Materials throughout the cabin are really nice, and the new RS7 Performance comes with an Alcantara steering wheel as well. When it comes to options Mat added, he went for the blue stitching throughout the cabin, coupled with blue seatbelts and blue stitching in the sport seats.

When it comes to the engine, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 630hp and 850Nm of torque. It also comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive.

Naturally, the car isn’t cheap. With all the options added it costs a mind-boggling £143,000! So is it worth it? And more importantly, will Mat prefer it to his Audi R8 Spyder? You’ll need to keep watching to see for yourself!

I really respect Matt his vision on running in a car and how he respects the potential owner that might buy the car. Really thoughtful!

If you were to take a shot of Everclear every time he said “carbon” in the first 2 minutes, you’d probably be dead.

Mat has a great relationship with the Audi dealership

Matt should have gone for a top of the range Dacia Sandero. That would have been an eye opener.

The exhaust Valve opening and closing has with the catalysts. When it closes the valves it heats up the catalysts faster in a cold start!

@Matt to change the RS Display
On the MMI
Go to settings
And look for display settings
Then Virtual cockpit, there’s 3 configurations there for the different modes.

Seeing Mat switch up his rides like changing clothes and diving deep into the specifics, like that clever exhaust valve system check, really highlights the passion and detail that goes into these machines.

The Audi RS7 is a great car to live with. I think the combination of a performance sedan and a GT3 Porsche Is the perfect two car garage.

142k? Car prices in UK are going absurd. Here in Canada this same spec will be around 175k CAD which is just over 100k Pounds. Crazy!!!

It amazes me that so many car manufacturers still have such laggy and unresponsive infotainment displays. While some of them look nice, they behave like you're using a 15 year old touch screen device. Input delay, laggy animations, slow processing is all a nightmare to deal with, especially when driving. It's even more of a problem now that manufacturers are hiding core vehicle controls behind sub menus.

The only problem is alcantara steering wheels is they get matted and look like crap after 6 moths from the oils in your hands.

Headlight condensation seems to be normal for every new car. Bought A6 with HD Matrix lamps, first few days in wet weather was like this, and after that never occured. Explanation at Audi dealer was that LED lamps doesnt produce enough heat to compensate temperature difference in headlight hausing with outside temperature. Seems logical and seeing no reccurent condensation after first time makes sense.
