As a Mongolian. I swear, this is the first time I'm seeing a dish like that. Most Mongolian traditional dishes doesn't have spice other than salt. I can't even name the vegetables on that dish. Remember Mongolians were nomads and the weather in mongolia isn't really great for agriculture back then.

So yeah... Mongolian beef isn't from Mongolia, confirmed by a Mongolian

What😂 Mongolian beef originated from Mongolian BBQ in Taiwan, which is just Beijing BBQ. Wu Zhaonan started the first restaurant which spawned a ton of imitations. He had to change the name to Mongolian BBQ because any links to Beijing at the time will get you barbecued.

I feel like in the majority of the time, whenever a food or dish is named after a place, it's not actually from that place.
The only outlier that I can think of off the top of my head is Idaho potatoes.

From what I've seen in documentaries, Mongolian cuisine is packed with dairy. At least with one family during breakfast.

What is kind of cool is that a teaches like Western Civilization names of China cities and stuff that's kind of cool even though it's not from there I guess that's one takeaway that is a way of looking at it in a positive manner because you look it up and then you find out that it's not named after the actual place called but you might find some interesting things along the way

Not the meat..its just a type of cooking. Like hainanese chicken is not from hainan island but cooked the hainanese cuisine..or tiramisu ingredients not from Italy but consist of instant ingredients.

The main foods I ate in outer mongolia which is not a apart of China is a lot of boiled meat and soups everywhere I went and they were amazing. I cannot wait to go back.
Khorkhog be a better representative of authentic Mongolian food.

I want to see old school subgum chicken. Where it’s more veges, than chicken and lots onion and celery, and low oil with good sauce. Kansas had best Chinese food in sixties and seventy’s now not good especially in California.
