Desperate and unable to face his parents with the news of another child, 21-year-old Sean Phillips took his partner Ariel Courtland and their infant daughter Kate to DHS for adoption, leading to a vicious argument. Ignoring Courtland's pleas, Phillips drove off with Kate still in the car seat, and later, in frustration, forcibly removed the seat, causing fatal injuries to Kate, whom he subsequently abandoned.

Courts mandate visiting rights to a parent who has no interest in the child? I see this as a big problem. Many of these parental visitations end horrifically. I believe the rights of the child should superceed the rights of the parent.
