American Airlines is considered to be one of the most popular, most affordable and worst rated airline in all of America so what is it actually like? In this video I show you everything from the check in, to the in flight experience and all the interactions with staff so we can truly see how it is like to fly on American Airlines!

American has its issues but it is nowhere near the worst airline. I recommend Spirit, Breeze or Frontier.

I never have a problem with AA they get me from point A to point B safely. They have a hub at my home airport, PHL! 👍🏻

Flew American Airlines from Chicago to Paris (via Dallas) and had no issues there, but once I got back to Chicago I had to wait three hours for my bags to come in (turns out they were put on a later flight). And many other people had the same problem it looked like based on how long the customer service line was. Also flew with them to Calgary in 2022. No problems there. It really is a coin flip as to what kind of experience you’ll get with American.

Last time I flew American Airlines from Venice to Chicago the flight was delayed for an hour which was really bad since we had a two hour layover in Chicago. We were gonna miss it 100% if the other flight from Chicago back to San Francisco didn’t get delayed as well, we got there in the Nick of time, we really got lucky there. However, the flight itself wasn’t bad and the food was really good. The delays is probably the only problem. I’d prob give it a 5.5/10.

The plane you flew on to JFK is quite a special one. It’s called the A321T and is one of the very few single aisle aircraft with full business and first class cabins. It was one of the only domestic planes on American that still had IFE. Unfortunately they just remodeled all of the A321Ts with the new oasis cabin, which doesn’t have IFE anymore…

American has vanishingly few medium sized planes with TVs on their seats (in fact they've been actively ripping TVs out of their planes) so the ones you got on your LA to NY leg is actually really rare for their planes of that size.

My suggestion to anyone flying is NEVER EVER book flights with tight connections! At minimum, try to schedule yourself an hour between connecting flights. And if you are connecting through major hubs like DFW or Chicago, allow two hours. Weather is a major cause of flight delays. The later in the day your connecting flight the more likely it will be delayed.
