AOD Transmission Leak Repair: Ford Econoline E150 Boogie Van

This time at the Quick Speed Shop I've had it with the leaky AOD transmission so I'm going to fix it! The shifter leaks and maybe the pan so a new gasket and filter are in order. To get the shifter mechanism out I have to take parts of the valve body apart which is scary!

Time to do some service on my Econoline including the AOD. I will greatly appreciate my newly installed 2 post lifts. Funny to see the 'QWIK TRUK' plate on the boogie van you talk of in the C10 project intro video :D

That transmission looked clean on the underside for 91, 000 miles. It should be just fine on the inside I would think.

I have a 2006 E350 that I don't drive a lot so my pan gasket started leaking. I got a gasket and 8 quarts of fluid and a filter while I'm at it. Thanks for the video, I'm going to buy a under bed tote before I start!! 👍. You van is awesome. I bought our van for camping and hauling motorcycles. Ended up buying a full size truck anyway but just cant bring myself to selling the van. It runs good and it's fun to drive around. 😂😂

Putting a drain plug on the pan would have been a no- brainer, but none of them do it!

What I don't get is why when you went thru a "nightmare" getting that apart why you wouldn't wait to get that other seal first before putting it back together :( What am I missing because I think your amazing!

Nice rims!!! A TEAM can u tell me what size tire and what size rim u use? BTW my 86 has a drain plug on the torque converter so I always drain that too

Dollar general trans fluid? I would have got some Motorcraft fluid.

i have a 1985 ford econoline with 302.
i believe i have an AOD, how do i know?
i know C6 has vacuum modulator on side of case, i believe AOD does not.
