I'm guessing his dad saw 'Eyes Without a Face' as "The Horror Chamber of Dr. Faustus", which it was released as in some theaters, which is why he didn't recognize the title.

I feel so sorry for this guy to have devoted a significant chunk of his life to Ant-Man only to be booted off the project for "creative differences" - it would have been a more interesting movie if he had been kept on.

He's one of the better Criterion guests.

That synopsis of eyes without a face is what made me take a chance on it and that movie is really really good! Such rewatchability

PS: Also - it might just be a small detail - but I love how in in this video (while talking about 'Eyes Without A Face') he starts telling us about his personal experience w/ the film while simultaneously delivering a cleverly threaded recap of it through his dad's quote.

Still mystified why Scott Pilgrim hasn't been recognized as a work of cinematic genius. Every second of that film is visually mindblowing and wildly entertaining.
