Tried a hex gaming controller, purchased it in FEB 24 and by May 24 it had “stick drift” in the left stick. It wouldn’t just move on its own but would do circles and fast jitters left and right. It was still under the warranty period so I tried to get it replaced but they said it was a result of me not using the rings they provide for the thumb stick. If you’re a competitive gamer those silicone rings make the controller feel horrible. Flash forward to now where the controller is totally unusable, the left stick problem just got worse and worse to the point now it is always ready circle inputs even when sitting on the desk untouched. $190 paper weight after 5 months and horrible customer support. DO NOT BUY ONE

For PC and Switch, I got the 8bitdo Ultimate. It's 54$ on amazon right now. It comes with hall effect sticks, rear triggers and a charging base. You can use it wired, wireless USB or bluetooth. Best value ever - I really wish they'd make a PS5 controller because I'm not paying $200 for a controller.

I've literally just received mine with the HE sticks and they're AMAZING!! took a few hours to get used to but I'm absolutely cracked at accuracy now like I've never been more accurate

The costs difference between a potentiometer joystick and a hall effect joystick is about 80 cents so the upcharge for hall effects are a little ridiculous

Extreme rate products are great. They use zero soldering. It is all cable ribbons and that’s y it’s last so long without malfunctioning

Too bad they didnt provide the 'mid height' thumbsticks like they did in the old hexgaming controllers. It's either super high or nubby low, no mid profile and kontrol freaks dont work with it nor does the old hexgaming control thumbsticks. It's overpriced honestly. Dual sense is probably better overall. The back buttons instead of paddles are a choice. Mine came with stick drift on both sticks as well. About to see if it can be rectified with the stuff they send with it.

I change the first one then I had to buy a other dual sense edge because I didn't find dual stick mods on my third one now. Second dual sense edge was a Bring it back it was defective.

I really wouldn't flash the "no more stick drift" phrase anywhere near any review videos for this thing, that includes the thumbnail.

The front PCB and tools doesn't fix stick drift at all, it simply pushes a half baked solution that'll become useless in almost no time in most cases. And the fix carried a few nasty drawbacks in total range and deadzones. If they used hall-effect sticks instead that were properly calibrated, then maybe there's a better argument (but even those might have a dodgey spring or retention clip go loose or something).

Hall effect stick mods for dualsense have come leaps and bounds in less than the last 12 months alone (and especially in the last 1-2 months with the easy to use recalibration homebrew software that was reverse engineered from sony's own tech). I hope extremerate can go and make a V2.0 with hall effect thumbsticks.
