I've been a huge fan of Nerdwriter for so long, favourite channel on youtube by far, its honestly such an honor to have my song featured on the outro!

Further supports my notion that putting stickers on the cover of books or movies should be a crime punishable by life imprisonment. Publishers who tack on "Now a Motion Picture, " or "New York Times Bestseller" should also receive at least a fine.

There should be a museum dedicated solely to book covers (if it doesn't exist already)!

I'm not a nerdy hipster that reads old sci-fi books.
I am now an art collector.
Thankyou

This is SO nerdy. Really fitting the channel, and I love it

It's always a treat to see an artist that not only created a whole new form, but then consistently outpaces all of his imitators and contemporaries. Evan just gets better and better

I remember watching this the day it came out and since then it is one of my favorite YouTube videos ever. The style and the voiceovers and everything about this video is perfect. Literally inspired me to go to a bookstore and start collecting vintage paperbacks. Keep up the great content!

Are you judging these books by their cover?

One cover that instantly jumps out to me is that of a Barnes & Noble edition of Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness" which used the twisted and haunting image of "The Trumpeter" by Zdzisław Beksinski.

I come back and rewatch this video maybe a couple times a year. Now I always go straight to the sci fi section when I go thrifting or walk through a book store, antique shop, etc.
I just picked up a 1972 copy of Fahrenheit 451 with THE most incredible cover art. It's gnarly and beautiful and awful all at the same time. It's a fun and cheap hobby to have! Which is good, because most of my hobbies are stressful and expensive.

If anyone wants to see bizarre artwork in a fantasy setting, I highly suggest checking out the art of Berserk. The amount of detail that the author puts into the (frankly ghastly) images is astounding.

Fantastic video. You hit the nail on the head about the used bookstores, Its not even just a book store, it's also like an art gallery.

I want to thank Nerdwriter for exposing and teaching me about such a fascinating topic, and the content it contains. Everything about this video is beautiful and fantastical.

An essay on album covers would be interesting. The joy he expresses here over having a great cover on his bedside reminds me of how wonderful it was, in the 60s, to ENJOY and love a LP cover, especially when you're listening to it for the first times.

Sci-Fi is such an under-appreciated genre.

My favorite part of this channel is that it helps me appreciate the world around me a little bit more. I never would have paid attention to my old sci-fi book covers if not for this video. It's such a small detail in my life, practically inconsequential, but now I really appreciate it. Thanks for an excellent video.

Just when you think that you've figured out Nerdwriter1's video genres, he pulls out a sci-fi book art on your face.

I won't lie, I had always been a snob about these book covers precisely because the most 'fashionable' book covers in shops today are bland and tell you nothing about the genre. But you've really made me appreciate the older cover art, and I'm determined to visit some second-hand bookstores now 👍
