E. KISSIN - G. NOSEDA - S. RACHMANINOV Piano Concerto n. 3 Op. 30 - live in Rome 2023

It's surrounded by an aura of legendary technical difficulty, thanks in part to the film "Shine," the Concerto No. 3 in D minor for Piano and Orchestra by Sergei Rachmaninoff, known as the "Rach3." In the film, the protagonist Geoffrey Rush, playing the pianist David Helfgott, descends into madness due to the spasmodic tension caused by performing this piece. In the concert, it is performed by Evgeny Kissin, described as "one of the most admired pianists of our time for the intensity and sensitivity of his interpretations," as noted by the New York Times.

On the podium is the Milanese conductor Gianandrea Noseda, a regular guest at the Santa Cecilia concerts since 1999 and currently the Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington and the General Music Director of the Opernhaus in Zurich, awarded in 2022 by German critics with the "Oper! Award" as the "Best Orchestra Conductor."

Hey guys, okok let's take it positively. First, we all agree that Kissin is one of the best players in the world and of course he has performed many times in fast and normal dynamic. I think this version can be a good reference to those who practise this concerto showing it slowly and clearly. Actually I've been practising this for a year and it helps me a lot.(I am a just amateur with no lesson) We neee to appreciate the legacy we got and also to him.
